93:20, Yaya's semi-final goal vs Utd or Yaya's FA Cup winner?

Which was the more pivotal goal?

Enjoyed Yaya's more, the Serg one ended up with the crowd stopping the game so uncertain if we would see it out.
Did it? I don't think it did. If it had we'd never have heard the end of it from the media.

Can I choose the final whistle in the 2011 Cup final. After all those years, realising that we'd actually won something.

Also, shout out to the Dickov goal at Wembley without that, I dread to think.

Aguero's goal. Although I do remember looking over at my Dad to see a tear in his eye when we lifted the FA Cup in 2011. He'd endured the 34 years prior to that, so the release of emotion in him, a dyed in the wool blue, must have been overwhelming. I could see why some would of the older generation would say the Yaya goal.

But Aguero's was, undisputedly, the more important goal.
Didn't know I had a son! I did just the same when the final whistle blew, remembering Nellies' goal in 1969.
For sheer emotion, though, Sergio's all day.

I was behind the goal in the 2011 final and I can still remember the thud as it left Yaya's boot (maybe we were quiet at the time). Didn't go to the QPR game which is one big regret. But Aguerooo will take some beating

The thing with the 2011 fa cup was the real final was the semi v the rags. That was the game that changed the narrative of the club. Yaya scored, Scholes got sent off. We were always going to beat the winner of Stoke v Bolton.

Although 2 years later we lost to Wigan.

Almost all blues supporting us in 2012 know the significance of Aguero's 93:20 PL winning goal, even many opposition fans know its significance.

But hardly anyone, blue or other will instantly recognise the significance of Yaya's net smashing 73:48 minute cup winner the season before in 2011.

Which has got me thinking. Was Yaya's cup winning goal more important a goal than Aguero's league winning goal considering we hadn't won a proper trophy since winning the league cup in 76.

I think it(Yaya's) was.

What do you think?

*Mods. Can we have a poll please?
No

It took 2 mins to kick off after the goal cus of it. It didn't show them on the telly, they avoid showing pitch invaders if possible, mainly from South Stand.

The most emotional I have felt over a goal was Yaya's second goal against Newcastle. 40 years of waiting and it put us on the brink and at that point I thought the title was ours. Could not foresee the QPR events but the Sergio goal was a mix of relief and joy and the FA cup goals were games I expected to win. I had doubts about the Newcastle game and did not really believe we would not cock it up in the league having got to the point it was in our hands with 2 games to go. All our other big goals have been joyous but the Newcastle one I had to take time out to myself to avoid shedding tears in public.

Hmmm maybe it's my age but although I'd never seen City win a cup I'd still count the promotions and playoffs as achievements so I maybe didn't have the years of hurt cathartic moment I might have if I'd been born in time to see the Bell, Lee, Summerbee generation.

It was fun tearing the banner down but it was never anything that weighed too heavily. With a good draw and a bit of luck any team can win a cup final so I don't consider it more important than a league winning goal in pretty much the most dramatic fashion ever. How important was Wigan's cup final goal? Important for that game but not for the future of the club.

The question for me is which goal can I still watch a decade later and it still bring tears to my eyes?

And in actual terms of growth and importance I'd argue it's not the first Premier League that is the important one (see Leicester and Liverpool) but the subsequent ones. Winning three leagues with three different managers in a handful of years is what sets City apart. Also going deep in the champions League season after season is what gives the finance and exposure to be elite.
