Europa league? Don't think so. Not sure we'll win the league this season but not even finish in the top four as you're suggesting? Mmmm as bit pessimistic!
I'm not saying we definitely will finish outside of the top four this season, but I am definitely not the first on this forum to say it's a possibility. In fact I don't think I was even in the first 100 people. Spurs are looking imperious this season, Arsenal are looking much more confident, Chelsea have started weakly but they have Jose and could easily start to grind out the 1-0 boring wins again, Liverpool are looking sharper than usual and we all know what the scum are like at finding undeserved form out of nowhere when they need it most. Even Everton are looking tough this season. We have a lot of big challengers this season, and we will need to visibly improve by quite a margin to be better than all but two/three of them by the end of the season. If ever there was a season to drop out of the top four, this is it, and if we fall out once, we will struggle to get back in IMO.
As for pessimism? I guess I am pessimistic but I don't see the logic behind optimism. Where is the run of good form going to come from? Our team is getting worse, not better. On top of this all, I just can't shake the pervading feeling that we have never really settled as a club at the top level, and that something about this team is just not right - like we just will never be happy or comfortable so long as we are pretending to be a title-challenging team. Even in the season we won the league we were falling apart, both the players and the fans. Something about this club and success just do not seem to want to go together.
