I think Milner should be given a bit more credit

-Just won young player of the year award with Villa and is clearly on the up.
-Both footed
-One of the best young english talents available (IMO)
-broken into the england squad and ahead of Walcott
-Some one has to replace Gerrard and Lampard (he could be the key)

Also I think with this new homegrown quota prices will increase.
Like someone mentioned on previous threds, his value is what someone is prepared to pay - so is there need to compare to other signings values? (Villa 34m Ronaldo 80m)

i wouldnt put too much stock in the fact milner is in the england squad after all so is heskey

There have been a few but none with the profile of Robinho, or of the high profile players that have moved from Barcelona to Madrid, Figo being one, and did the Barcelona fans let him feel the wrath of the catalan when he went back
Bracelona fans are different to Madrid fans. Madrid being spanish and Barcelona being catalan and against the whole world.
One player that did move from madrid to baracelona was Lorenzo Amador in 1980 but he played for my closest la liga team Hércules CF for a bit first.

Agree with all of the above. However, there is fair number of people on here who post bullshit, lies and WUMs on purpose, who claim to be connected or "in the know" when in fact they are just making things up. And they deserve all flak they get imho because they are not "just blues to post in good faith". They post to get attention and to wind people up.

A good example was chazmcfc who claimed to have seen M. Johnson completely pissed up when he was out injured last season. A member of the Mod/Admin team on here who knows Johnson proved that this was actually a lie because he was with Johnson at the claim chazmcfc insisted he had seen him (as far as I remember). On top of that he was also incredibly abusive so he deserved to be banned.

no shit, Inspector Clouseau.

anyone who sees potential 'bullshit, lies, and WUMs on purpose can report 'em to the mods. calling our attention to the Single Most Obvious Fact of Life In a Transfer Gossip Forum positively reeks of absolutely useless attention-whoring.

sorry but treating the average reader of a transfer forum like an idiot by pointing out that 'rumors aren't always trueeeeeee' and 'some people are baaaaad' isn't helpful and is quite patronizing.

can we PLEASE stop planting "i told you so" attention-whoring and get back to the gossip and groundless speculation?

Or Luis Enrique in 1996, who went on to become a Barcelona legend.

I think Ibra is a prima donna like Robinho and Adebayor.

I think he will only be trouble.

Absolutely 100% spot on. Attention whoring is the only reason they do it.

Not bveen on since yesterday anyone care to update me the past 50 pages , anyone still sputing Kaka is coming or was that bullshit ?

...anyone else agree that this place has been a less humourous, more argumentative, petty, back-stabbing morass of nonsense since the demise of the pun festival of last week?

it was light hearted back then, in the good old days...bring back the puns in transfer threads!...slightly immature it may have been but at least some (I) found it mildly amusing!

whilst I sympathise with certain views from the mods that it was taking time to delete pun pages - why bother? - on reflection better a page or two of harmless fun than the reams and reams of argumentative slagging off of fellow blues or imposters that I've seen over the last few days.....

what we need in here to make some sense of all the transfer speculation, gossip, myths, stories, lies, wind-ups and even news is real commentary from a specialist pun dit.
