a match boycott is a must

Come on can't the TBA get something done!

i would of thought NO!

TBA have done fantastic work, but IMO this is bigger.

The only way to do something is by all supporters from all teams being unified and doing something together (boycotts, silences, walking out after 10 minutes, a unified banner 'Premier league ticket prices are killing the game') etc)...the football supporters association would be well placed to orchestrate something.

Why would a group that's part-funded by the Club have anything to do with a boycott?

This would only hinder their position with the club.

This is a far bigger issue and one that an organisation such as The FSF needs involvement with. Gathering fans from all clubs across the country and staging a mass boycott with picketing outside grounds on the boycott day, letting people willing to go inside the ground why we're protesting.

For a start all the big forums need to come together. That's the only way word will spread. Blue Moon, Red Cafe, RAWK, etc.

Once the word get's out and the boycott gains momentum, then something can be done across the country.

Nobody is asking season ticket holders to not turn up, its just away fans boycotting.

City are great value for season tickets I pay £28 a game. Which is the top that any game of football should be unless a cup final or derby IMO.

My lad is already in dusseldorf and travelled from there to watch cologne play in a second tier match. Paid on the day, all the standing tickets had gone so sat in good seats and was charged 25 euros. Lots of standing sections.
Interestingly though, he said there was no atmosphere at all for 10 minutes - said it was like a morgue, then on 10 minutes the stadium erupted with the best atmosphere / noise he has come across for a while. Turns out german fans were having a protest against plans to abolish safe standing as a result of the hillsborough reports - all the german fans are opposed to this hence the unified protest!
IMO the only way to make a stand about prices is seek unity from fan's of all clubs and make a stand together...this is where the power is and will make the money men (sponsors / tv companies) raise an eyebrow or two!

"Fans across the German club divide displayed fabulous scenes of unity on Tuesday night in a widespread supporter protest against the controversial ’Safe Stadium experience’ laws likely to come into operation imminently.

The German football authorities are set to vote on December 12 on the ’Safe Stadium experience’ paper. In a nutshell, the paper plans to vastly reduce away support from the present 10% ticket allocation to just 5%, whilst institutionalising a complete ban on away standing sections. Moreover, the paper wants all German football fans to undergo strict full body scans when entering a stadium.

The rules are to apply to both the Bundesliga and Bundesliga II divisions, but on Tuesday night the fans of the top two tiers of German football expressed their thoughts on the ‘Safe Stadium experience’ paper through the newly established 12:12 protest movement.

The protest is beautiful in it’s simplicity, just demanding that all fans refuse to chant songs and waves banners until the 12th minute and 12th second of their respective matches. Once that time had past though, it is the responsibility of every fan to get back to the job of vocally supporting their team".

We've been trying that for years haven't we? Although we keep it up for the full 90.

How can I support my club when it costs too much to do so?

unfortunately, that is the price of success. clubs all over the country have been doing it to the rags for years.
as much as it stinks, this is a reality that will not change by everyone not turning up for reading away!

Its not the price of success though. Arsenal win fuck all yet their fans get charged over a quid a minute against Tottenham.

This isnt a city protest, its about the price of football as a whole for every club

Good article, "Personal boycotts, angry tweets, disgruntled Facebook comments and a quiet moan in your local pub isn’t going to change anything" is key.

How do we do it? Do we bouycott an away game? How many of the away fans would/could be stop going? Would the club stop new/touristy fans buying? How do we spread a message?
