A proper discussion...what made you support city?

My family and I are from Salford
My Grandad went to every home game, City and United basically every Saturday.
After Munich things changed. Bolton did the open top bus thing after they won the cup that year. Things turned ugly outside old trafford
He decided to support city solely after this.
He did serve in the second world war and bert was a german paratroop. But he always spoke fondly of him and there was a compassion even though as country a lot of our familys suffored loses

So it was dad via my grandad who got me into city
My grandad and dad were at Newcastle away plus the nelly cup final

My dad was also in Vienna - my grandad did not go

I am 32 and have never seen them win a trophy. I hang on to my dads and my grandad memories.

CTID

I was taught from very young age thats there is only one path to follow in life by my father.
That path is blue :)

This is a question I have asked myself many times, seeing my older brother was a unitedfan, which was, and still is, the trend in norway. How I ended up supporting City, I don't know, but I'm f*cking proud that is the case!

My dad hates football, weird that im obsessed with it now! My grandparents are from Manchester, my uncle supported united, my grandad supported city so i was confused as a child. Then my grandad died and i decided to take on city as i didnt know him too well, hopefully he'll be proud of my suffering for the family cause! It may be contraversial amongst you lot but i dont hate United.

Well I was born in Manchester and delivered at St Marys hospital, my parents left me on the doorstep of an orphanage in Moss Side. My first set of foster parents who where abouriganies, used to take me to the games hidden in a fruit basket woven from silk. Anyway that's when I got the bug (I was 8). My 2nd be set of foster parents where eskimonios who carried on the tradition of taking me to the games, although this time in a wheelbarrow to avoid the traffic. After that I was blue for life, even after my accident on trapeeze whilst in the circus....

Dad made me....

Haven't spoke in 20 years lol

Only joking i'm CTID and i'm not even 20 yet so...

it was a strange one for me. i lived out in germany as a kid as my step dad was in the army, we lived in dortmund, at the age of 7 myself along with 3 other brits were signed up by borussia dortmund youth where i spent 5 years playing for their youth team. at the age of 12 we moved back to ashton under lyne to live with my gran before moving to dukinfield, in 1994 once i left school and started working there was a lad there who was a mad city fan ( we have been like brothers ever since.) said who do you support my answer was simple it was dortmund, he said what about an english team, i thought for a minute and said well my step dad is a rag but never been that interseted as it broke my heart when we left germany and i had to give up playing for dortmund youth. he said come to a city game so i borrowed a top off him and went to my first city match in 95 i came away at the end of the game with this massive rush of blood inside of me and really felt part of a family, since that day ive been hooked and wouldnt change it for anything in the world.

I had a free choice. City or United.

I have absolutely no idea why I chose City. I like to think it was City that chose me.

My dad wasn't interested in football but all of my family that were, were rags. fortunately my best mate at school was a blue (and this was just before Mercer & Allison when they were getting 8,000 in the old Second Division) and he just talked me into it.
