A reply to Mancini's MEN advert in La Gazzetta Dello Sport

i think i've been successful in obtaining about 18 copies of tomorrows La Gazzetta Dello Sport, it contains the Mancini thank you advert as you know. If i am successful, just waiting for the confirmation e-mail, and you are interested in getting a copy, PM me. I'll log the first 18 and then confirm delivery/pick up details with you individually.

Fingers crrossed.

I'm struggling to see how any City fan who understands the history (and by that I mean actual history, rather than 'istree) of this club and what tearing that banner down meant, can take any issue whatsoever with that advert.

It's sad when people follow a club but can't see beneath the thin veneer of superficial statistics. Every club has a soul and Roberto Mancini, like Joe Mercer, will be forever interwoven into ours.
Top man!

I haven't had a chance to read the entire thread, but if some on here are using this as an opportunity to point to Mancini's negatives, then shame on you. I have been among his most critical, but I also understand what he's done for the club.

He came into a situation in which he didn't know what to expect, he turned things around almost immediately, and won silverware. He may not be the man to take us up to the next level, but he's sure as hell the man that took us from mid-table, possible relegation candidates (even the 18 months of Clueless Hughes), and formed the squad into a trophy winning group of players.

He deserves our thanks, and as mentioned many times, he'll be a manager along the lines of Mercer in our History.

I just hope he drops by to catch a few matches every now and then, that would be epic.

Mancini will have a statue outside the stadium in future. His 'cycle' ended and change was needed but he deserves all the thanks and praise he gets.

Spot on fella. No one person is bigger than the club, player or manager, that said just because the club moves on (hopefully upwards) doesnt mean we cant respect the people who have helped along the way. What Bobby did for us was awsome, never to be forgotten. Just like Dickovs injury time goal, the Goats buckets of goals, NDJ tackels...there forever part of our history and as long as they leave without ripping the club, I for one will always applaud them and thank them if i was ever to come across them. This entire thing was a class move from a mainly class set of fans im happy to call my own.

Says it all for me. Shame that a minority on here are turning into another pro/anti Mancini thread.

Those who don't believe an advert in a newspaper is appropriate are ENTITLED TO THEIR OPINION. Just as those who believed Mancini should be sacked were ENTITLED TO THEIR OPINION. They should be able to voice their opinion without being insulted. Not a difficult concept to grasp.[/quote]

How about they do it in the dozens of threads specifically setup to slag off Mancini? Not a difficult concept to grasp.

"I HAVE AN OPINION, IT MUST BE HEARD EVERYWHERE BECAUSE I'M SO FUCKING IMPORTANT"

Whilst I agree with the sentiments, I'm not entirely sure our owners are particularly well disposed towards erecting statues tbh.

I've just wasted 15 mins of my life stripping the thread back of all the shit it contained.

Can we please keep on topic with the thread and it's intentions, there's plenty of other threads to slag him on, but not this one.

With Thanks!

Much appreciated. Many thanks.

But then he'd be accused of shit stirring and angling for Pelli's job. Sad to say but true.

Just to add my own appreciation of the idea behind this and to everyone who chipped in especially if, like me, you are getting grief off the wife for contributing.

We may go on to bigger and better glory but Mancini did it first.
