A trip down memory lane around Manchester....

My RE classes at Yew Tree were between 1978 - 80. I can only remember one RE teacher...some oldish guy with yellow hair?
My dad retired around that time - maybe just before you were there. Tosher Bolton (nickname / surname).

Mr Bolton sounds familiar. The RE teacher WAS only there for my first few years of high school so it could have been him.

*edit. I just called my sister who was in the year above me...it WAS Mr Bolton!! I can still vaguely picture him now.

My high school.....Yew Tree High in Wythenshawe. It went on to become Arden college and then got demolished. Fcking terrible school...but good memories!
I used to live on the estate just behind the school so it was dead easy to wag it.
That was my old school, I was in Oldham, what house were you in? Left in 1977. Was made House Captain!! God knows why, was always on a conduct sheet for my behaviour

I started Yew Tree in 78. You probably had some of the same teachers as me though.. Maths teacher Mr Thomas (warewolf/vampire), French teacher Mr Graham (Brassneck). There was an English teacher called...Mr English!

The sign on that chemists shop says something ‘Park’ pharmacy.
Probably somewhere I’ve never heard of in the Siberian wastelands north of Kendals
It's hard to see what park it's referring to...there IS a park there still now. It's so hard to get the location from that picture...I wouldn't have guessed it. Yeah...it's in North Manc.....but where specifically? hehehe.

I KNOW you're not in Radcliffe....they don't have internet up there yet. I think you have to travel a few miles south into Manchester to just post messages on BM.
I send a carrier pigeon with my reply to the telegraph office and they send a morse code message to a friend in Manchester who posts on my behalf

Openshaw Technical Collage, the biggest engineering collage in Manchester, i was there between 74 and 78, good times, unfortunately no longer exists, today there is a smaller version known as Mancat, there were some good lads back then, we all knew who supported who, good days.
