Academy Pathway to the First Team

I'm thinking more in terms of these players helping the squad, rather than playing them purely for their sake though. Extra energy & goal threat.

Particularly in the Prem League games.
I think we're fast approaching the situation where the issues surrounding Guardiola's future will impact on the progression of players such as Doyle and Palmer.
For the same reason, this campaign is starting to resemble the sense of drifting in 2015-16 when the players knew that Pellegrini was leaving

I still haven't figured out why Pep didn't try out Tosin and Frimpong and why Angelino was treated the way he was..

We must have about 15+ players out on loan at various clubs throughout Europe. Yet FantayIreland you want yet another play to go out on loan. Why not send all of the under 23 squad out on loan as well.

We ignore what happens in training. Several players have now been called to train with the first team. If it is clear that the player can compete then they will appear in the squad. If they are beneath the requirements then it is right that they are not selected. I speak as someone who loves to see youngsters in the squad but it is a mix of talent and attitude that none of us are in a position to evaluate but the coaching staff are.

I don't remember who the subs were for the game against WHU. If Delap was one of the subs. Then why didn't Pep use him. This would have made David Moyes have to rethink his tactics completely.

So who knows he made have played right into our hands. There is no point in giving these youngsters an odd ten minutes here and there. They need a 25 minutes on the pitch to get up to speed of the game.

Why make a post based on something you don't remember?

The reality of this season is there is zero excuse not to give decent minutes to Doyle, Palmer, Delap and potentially HB. It's a no lose situation.
I pretty much agree, but we were saying the same about Foden for the past two seasons and to be fair to pep it seems he has handled Foden transition to a first team regular perfectly.

Those players that have little chance of making a breakthrough,or are way down the pecking order or just need a little experience to develop......are best going out on loan. Those that have the ability and talent to make an impact on the first team will be brought into the fold and developed here.

Thats how it works, numbers are largely irrelevant,i didnt think it was a difficult concept to grasp.
