According to SSN... Tevez wants to go!

3 year contract remaining, Price tag based on recent deals should be £60 million to city, He wants out he takes BIG pay cut

it seems his wage demands are prohibative, but if he's that serious about being closer to his daughters then he should be willing to take a serious drop in wages to do so. That would then increase the number of clubs who would bid for him.

He wants it both ways atm

It won't be any better in Italy or Spain, he should just retire and leave the money on the table.

I'd love city to just say you can buy your contract out or be fined if you don't turn up for training. This is all to get his transfer fee down and his wages the same or higher. Even Maradonna said Tevez was playing us. Fight back city!

It appears strong emotion makes clear thought difficult. Your logic is self-defeating. For one thing, Tevez' statement clearly says that his request is a result of an attempt to face up to his family responsibilities. For another, the reasons for his request make no practical difference whatsoever to the position of the club in dealing with potential buyers. He wants to go, he submits a formal request; whatever damage he can do to our bargaining position is done, regardless of the reasons behind his desire.
No it isn't. Leaving but not dragging it through the press and making these statements about being unhappy in Manchester etc. might possibly come under that bracket. Not putting in a transfer request half way through the season and having a go at Cook and Marwood might come under that bracket. But he has done those things. Him and Kia have done everything they can to reduce our bargaining position. Tevez could have gone about it in a far better way even if we do accept that he's living up to his responsibilities.

The first transfer request was poorly timed, on the face of it, this one is absolutely normal and reasonable. There isn't a word that he's uttered in the meantime amounts to anything at all. People take jobs then decide they need to change for whatever reason. Anyone moving jobs has to look after their own interests, because it's a tough world.

Then we run the risk of being unable to sell at all. This should be looked at as an opportunity to get another top player in.

Get a realistic price and he can be replaced this summer. 25-30 is too low by far, but I suspect we will have to go below £50 million.

I'd take that

You know what, guys? In the last 10 minutes, I've looked at that picture top left of Doyley with the League Cup lid on his head who earned a few hundred quid a week for captaining us to our glory years and I looked at the picture card of Tevez I have stuck on the fridge in the kitchen... A couple of thoughts occurred;

I hero-worshipped Doyley when I were a lad (and in later life knew him socially) .... he earned 2 or three times a week more than my Dad R.I.P. did (who was a lathe operator who also hero-worshipped him).

I have hero-worshipped Tevez since his arrival at COMS.

Me and Our Kid have a modestly successful small business that keeps us in two or three foreign holidays a year apiece and a new car every couple of years. Yet our yearly turnover (including materials and costs / wages / accountants...etc) only matches Tevez's weekly wage. We are more-often-than-not away from our families all week to earn our money ....which is, in the main, considerably more than most of our friends earn.

I dont believe in 20-odd years time I will be having a pint with Senor Tevez (Pab Zab, maybe.....)

On that basis, Carlitos

I'm out.

RIP Doyley and good luck Tevez. See you, BYE!!
