According to SSN... Tevez wants to go!

I might have a bit more respect for Tevez if he went on camera and actually said what he wanted in his own words rather than hiding behind these carefully scripted flowery press releases from the desk of Joorabchian.

Agree.

I've asked on another thread but got no response so I'll ask here. Has anyone got a link to a direct quote from the player himself dated in the last week or so where he says he wants to leave? I'm wondering if this is an SSN story maker job seeing as the story yesterday didn't include any quotes whatsoever.

EDIT, just seen the updated story with quotes although the quotes aren't dated.

No, no, no, no, you're missing the point. They will move with him because they want a Mediterranean destination for the warmer climate and way of life, which is clearly abundant in northern Italy.

Of course, i stupidly missed that! I forgot about Milans almost tropical climate. :)

Oh dear, not fussed anyway. Role on the new talent (who might pass the ball occasionally) ;)

Seriously, how many clubs would even bid for him?

They must have been watching his antics, for us and clubs before us, and be thinking "Why sign him, he's only going to agitate for a big money move in 2 years time to set him up for his retirement".

If I was a big club owner, even Real or Barca, I'd be thinking "Good player but we don't need the fucling stress of that mercenary twat when we can go get Rossi or Aguero".

Has he managed to screw up any future transfers from his antics.............

Its either Inter Milan,Juventus or Madrid

Inter have Sneijder as a possible makeweight,a virtual straight swap in terms of age and wages.

Juventus have the cash and want a marquee signing but hasnt Tevez allegedly turned them down?

Madrid and Mourinho would obviously fancy him.

We need another striker so its got to be cold hard cash IMO

There comes a point where his behaviour is harmful to the club. For all the good he's done, he is also constantly dragging the club into the gutter with this uncertainty.

He needs to realise, him leaving relies on two of the following three points:

1) Someone offering us an acceptable amount. This won't be an Argentinian club and he knows it.

2) We agree a settlement package with him. Unlikely, as we have so much investment tied up in him.

3) We get a suitable replacement.

So, what does Carlos actually want, in an ideal world? Are his daughters his real reason to move? Possibly. Is it really Argentina or bust? I suspect not. I think Spain is the halfway house his partner is willing to move to, and Carlos & Kia are engineering a move to Real.

So, for all the respect and niceties he offers in his statement, the disrespect he is showing our club and the Sheikh will come through in time. I suspect his real motives are to tip the scales to a point where us having a slightly unhappy Carlos from time to time, but putting up with it and keeping him here, is no longer in our interests.

Totally understand and respect Carlos' reasons for needing to move. It's clear he's a pretty emotional fella - but sticking in a transfer request in the closed season doesn't bother me one bit. Mid season was just ridiculous - but at the beginning of July when he's off at the Copa America...? No problem for me...

He'll go with my thanks for everything he's done for our club. He has singlehandedly dragged us from a top 10 side to a top 3 side with his goals, his work rate, and his passion on the field for the game. He was our first truly world class footballer. In many respects he was as vital to the project at that point as Sheikh Mansour himself.

I understand emotions are running high - but I think in years to come every Blue everywhere will have nothing but fond memories of King Carlos...

I've been a solid supporter of Carlos . . loved what he's done for us but I readily accept that it was a temporary situation (he's hard working but an entirely self focussed mercenary).
His part in our rise has been to facilitate a step forward while the club brought in new talent to replace and exceed him.
Some conjecture going on re whether Balo and Dzeko can cover his absence here on in but I'm sure they can.
Balo (very young, new to the prem and out injured for most of last season) scored at a higher tempo than tevez . . more goals per minute played by a mile so just see what he can do once settled in the side with a clear run and no injuries.
Dzeko (brought in mid-season, no prem experience and not getting the service he needs to play his kind of game) scored a couple but IMO will flower following a full pre-season and with the team trained to work with him.

Tevez gone? It was inevitable and the situation is not insurmountable as we have an incredibly strong squad and definitely can bring in the results without him regardless of whether we replace with another established striker.

I've got no worries and I've had my say now so I'll get off this thread because the doom & gloom merchants are wallowing in their self imposed angst and it's too depressing to contemplate when we have so much to be extremely positive about.

Not surprised by this statement and anything with Tevez is a circus plus with Mancini saying in the press on Sunday that we were close to doing a swap with Inter for Eto then something was said between all parties (City, Tevez, Kia, Khaldoon etc).

Problem now is who can afford to buy him and afford his wages, we should only sell for what we feel he his worth (£50mill the minimum if Torres was £50mill).

Can see a deal involving swap players to resolve this one.
