We won't get much more for him than we paid for him and management is happy for him to stay and fight for a place.

His "dream" when growing up was to play for Sunderland and only a club like City can help him fulfill that dream.

I am happy to see him have game time especially against the clubs in the lower half of the table because he will do things that improve our chances of victory but if that's not good enough for him then so be it.

Replacing him with Sinclair or the likes would not help us that much imo though.

if we get 12-15m for him and pay 5m for sinclair i'd say was good business by bobby.

agreed sinclair is younger and hungrier - he probably not farting around in a Lamborghini just to get to training like AJ

Any profit at all swapping Johnson for Sinclair is incredible business. Sinclair is the better player and younger, can't see any negatives at all.

Was always too one footed for me would go missing from games too often. He just doesnt suit our style. I prefer Drenthe.

At least he can take our penalties if the side doesn't think Tevez is up to it anymore and Mario is on the bench at the time (LOL).

I am not sure he is much more advanced in his career and level of influence on match days than AJ though.

Is faster, better on both feet and scores more goals so yeah I prefer Drenthe.

-- Wed Aug 22, 2012 12:36 pm --

3 goals, 5 assists last season in 21 appearances for Everton last season (AJ was 6 goals & 5 assists in 36, but most were as sub), has so far undermined his own career through typical Dutch arrogance. Attitude worse than AJ. Which is why he is a free agent.

-- Wed Aug 22, 2012 12:46 pm --

MJ is one of the biggest shames (as sad as Paul Lake if his decline wasn't so self-inflicted). Grew up in Urmston (like me), would have been one of the few players of the past to get into our current midfield.

Think he got the McLaren road car. That loud it sounded like the exhaust had gone when he was driving past me on the A34 to Wilmslow.

AJ's problem is he doesn't fit into plan A, cos that's Silva, Nasri, plus two strikers.
Also plan B appears to be 352, which is Milner and Kolarov. He would be a liability as a wing back, but I would love to keep him because I think he gives us something we don't have and is much better than Sinclair.
Problem he wants to play every week and would rather be a starter at Sunderland than a sub with us!

There is only the 3-5-2 plan B, because there are not enough players to rotate plan A with. In an ideal world you keep the formation the same, but change the players. That way everyone gets used to playing in the system and can fit in and out easily.

I think it's time to get rid of Johnson. He had his fair time, but wasn't up to it. He lacked the work ethic to make it at the top. He does not track back enough and does not offer enough going forward. He is too predictable and often makes the wrong choices. Perhaps equally bad is he lacks the big game mentality. A perfect example of this is a couple of years ago he had the ball on the counter and Rooney was chasing him. When he realised it was Rooney, you could see the panic in his face and he dribbled the ball off the pitch. He is the type that will often go missing in a big game and be too afraid to try things. You should really be selling him for at least 15 million though. However, if you have a replacement shortly lined up then maybe 12 to get him off the books.

That's not my point, I like Johnson he can stay for me, but if he wants to play he has to go. If he goes he will be replaced

Ps I'm not your pal

Its my point though, pal, at the end of the day johnson isnt good enough and we need a replacment, we also need cover at centre back, if you dont understand that a football club needs to strengthen every year and not stand still you will be in for a big shock this season.

Mancini said AJ wont be sold/loaned out until we get a replacement but he indicated that AJ will be gone.
