i think people are over reacting about RVP, to call it a "2 footed lunge" is abit far fetched.

Don't think so mate, both feet were off the ground when he jumped into the "tackle"

watch it properly, rvp left foot gets there before the right, it was more of a swipe with his right foot.

Re: Breaking News. Adebayor charged with ...

Just because he's been charged with improper conduct does not mean he will recieve a ban. Probley a warning and a fine. Looks like 3 games for the rake.

Has the punishment actually been announced, i cant see anything further than the charges confirmed?
City's website seems to suggest that an automatic three-game ban for the stamp has been offered. Adebayour has until tomorrow to accept that or request a hearing on Thursday.

Cheers nj

Re: Ian Watmore FA Chairman and lifelong Arsenal fan

Knew it. That's 2 of the panel who shouldn't be there due to conflict of interest: him, and David Gill, whose club the ban would be in effect for, being the next game.

Re: Breaking News. Adebayor charged with ...

"Referee Mark Clattenburg has advised the FA that he did not see this incident, but has confirmed that had he done so, he would have sent Adebayor off for violent conduct."

To me that says that he saw the challenge, but didnt see the alleged stamp. The tackle and the stamp are two seperate incidents.
He obviously deemed the challenge as nothing so waved play on, but missed the alleged stamp.

Sorry, I'll defend City players if I feel they did nothing wrong but in this case I dont.....Im loyal, but not blindly loyal. I agree it was probably provoked by RVP, and it was a heat of the moment reaction....not pre-meditated, but he still has to answer for it.

But as for the FA...yeah they are a joke for charging him for the celebration considering he had already been carded, and this 'fast-track' charge is bollocks.

As the FA spokesman said after Barton/Etuhu if you see a coming together of players, even if you don't see the whole incident that taking any further action is tantamount to re-refereeing the game, and is against FA rules.

If he saw the coming together of Van Persie and Adebayor (as evidenced by waving play on) then it's game over. No action can be taken according to the FA's (admittedly stupid) rules.
