Prestwich Blue will shortly explain how it is insignificant in accounting terms

In terms of FFP but it will save paying his wages, regardless of FFP

Manchester City believe they are close to brokering a compromise deal that will see Emmanuel Adebayor leave for Tottenham at last.

City are ready to subsidise the Togo striker’s wages at White Hart Lane for the next two seasons, and will hand him a significant chunk of the £5million fee as a pay-off.

It means the champions will have to write off almost all the £25m they paid Arsenal for Adebayor three years ago.

City agreed to sell him in a cut-price deal after he spent last season on loan at Spurs.

But that move was blocked when Adebayor demanded his share of the fee because he would have to take a cut on the £170,000-a-week wages he earns at the Etihad.

Now City will help Spurs pay his salary and will also hand Adebayor most of the fee.

Boss Roberto Mancini urged the striker not to reject the deal, saying: “I am sorry for Adebayor because he has no chance at City.

“He has absolutely no chance of playing this season here.

"So, for us, it’s important he can find a good solution.”

Meanwhile, City are lining up Jack Rodwell, Everton's £20m-rated England midfielder.

Hope this is the real deal - Adebayor. We were always going to take a hit. Take it, move on.

A traversty if we are paying a bean, ffs we owe Spurs jack shit!
This.

Fuck em both he can rot in the reserves. They'll cough up the money we want on August 30 when they're facing 6 months with only 1 recognizable striker. If they don't then we keep him til January and watch them flounder in mid table.

Re: Adebayor

It was expected but at least he will be off our payroll. It will be a test of AVB's of questionable man man management skills.

Re: Adebayor

Adebayor's agent should replace Marwood today.

That would be hell of a business for City.

Not a chance we should do this, I would rather let him rot in the reserves and see out his contract that sell him to spurs on that deal. Adebayor is a 15 - 20 goal premier league striker and is also capable on a good number of assists a season. Regardless of his wage any striker capable of performing how he does is worth a minimum 15 million especially when matt jarvis and steven fletcher are getting valued at 10 million. If we sell him for 5 million then that shitty stingy club spurs should pay him off as they will be saving 10 million of his true valuation.

Also why is Marwood letting that twat Levy control the transfer saga. Yes we need to get rid but spurs need a striker and the other players they have been linked with that Damaio and Llorente are going to cost them a minimum 20 - 25 million so Marwood should be the one playing hardball. Its simple give spurs a deadline to meet our valuation or they can forget about him. Spurs have bent us over and bummed the club over the adebayor transfer so I really hope we tell them to get lost even if it means loaning him to another club for a worse deal or letting him rot.

If we pay a cent of his wages it must be a loan deal with a definite fee and transfer at the end of the season. Which would mean he couldn't play against us.

If we will pay both the fee and his salary on top of it let him go to spurs.

then Mr Marwood should get fired that would be a new low even by his standards.
This window is turning into a real nightmare.

Here is hoping but this could be similar to what Leeds did with Danny Mills and I think Robbie Fowler.
