Adebayor (merged)

If Ade has really asked for time to consider then City (and us!) should now be drip feeding the press with tidbits along the lines of:

'City to reinstigate Eto'o move as Adebayour deal stalls'
'City initiate back up striker plan'
'City to issue Adebayour deadline and move for Forlan'

Focus the buggers mind a little.

hope we get him in.

we'll have all kinds of options and cover. He realistically could get 20 goals next season if kept fit. he does win his own ball, he can be unplayable and I would trust Hughes to get the best out of him as he has done with other notoriously mouthy bastards.

Adebayor would be a decent addition to the squad, who gives a fuck about cost.

Work permits are based on your employer. Therefore, to get one you have to be in the employ of that company. Therefore, he must have already signed a contract if he's already got a work permit through us. Therefore, he obviously hasn't got a work permit yet.

You sign someone before getting a work permit, not afterwards. Hence you often see "..........has signed for .......... subject to a successful work permit application".

Confused.

Its simple Adebayor would be fucking SENSATIONAL !!!!! at our club.

Exactly.

Can people please stop slagging Ade. You're basing it on rumour and speculation. If he signs it will be massive for us.

Hughes has said TODAY:

"Talks are going on (about Adebayor) and are at an advanced stage,''

<a class="postlink" href="http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/soccer/wires/07/16/2080.ap.soc.man.city.abu.dhabi.0400/index.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/s ... index.html</a>

Let's BELIEVE in Sparky and not some rags.

At the press conference today in Abu Dhabi, Hughes was questionned about Adebayor and other potential signing and he said...

"We are talking to some players...and are looking to make sure the balance of the team is correct," Hughes said. "We do recognise the need to strengthen in certain areas."

Now that to me shows, Adebayor isn't the only player we are in advanced talks with!!! Good news!!
