I get the impression that everyone is in a hurry on this one. They want him on the SA trip so they can start their merchandising with an African player.
Such cynicism Pam!!

I agree Pam,

the whole point about getting eto'o was the fact he is an african icon, and ADUG are looking for an Icon like that to front there business intrests in the undeveloped markets in Africa. So when Eto'o was told to do one, plan B came in ade, i bet good money that plan C would also have been an African player and so on, remember although its massive to us, Football is just the vehicle to promote their main business intrests, as they wish to use the global sport to promote their own global business empire. imo

"that stu bloke mean me?" haha thanks mate, I havnt been given any info just my opinion I can only give you solid info on injuries and medicals and other sports science related topics, just my opinion regarding tranfer info, but he DEFO has permission to speak to us I know that much.

Players must have appeared in 75% of their country's competitive international 'A' team fixtures in the previous two years;

Permits will be valid for the length of a player's contract with the club;

The FIFA ranking of the player's national side aggregated over 2 years (at or above 70th place) is a basic criterion.

picked this up from a law website dont know if you need all three points to be granted a permit or just one but with having two points i think we will be granted a permit even if thats on appeal

Agree. They've been very open on this point. They see it as part and possible of the job. There's an untapped market out there, particularly given that the world cup is coming up at the end of next season. Raising City's profile

Work Permits and Visa's were not made with football players in mind so as to be able to tie things up in hours.

The way im lead to be believed is that the FA are trying to get the law changed whereas people who have say a 3 year visa/work permit can use the same permit for various jobs in the duration time allowed..But pro footballers have to renew their permit everytime they change clubs wether or not the allotted time has been used..
it will be like applying for the first time, but seeing as hes already had one...there shouldnt be any probs.

Well this one isn't. Fee has not been agreed, no bid has gone in, they are waiting for the permit. If accepted then things should move fairly rapidly, as I said before a Player Medical is due to start at 2pm tomorrow, not sure wether its a new player of current injured player but will find out in the morning

On this thread last night you posted- you don't get info on transfers, just the medicals so how do you know for certain a fee has not been agreed?

Imo arsenal would not let us apply for his new visa without agreeing a fee and from personal experience the when you go through the process your new/full employer details must be given inclusive of earnings!

Hmm surely this means the end of at least two of Bojinov, Bellamy & Caicedo.

Maybe, but I would say one rather than two. I wouldn't really like to see any of those three go. I fear, if we do get Adebayor, that Caicedo will leave, and that's a shame, especially considering how well he did in the second half of last season. Also, he is only 20 and I think he might have good potential.

Maybe we could loan out Bojinov, to a Premiership club where he would get a season of regular football, maybe that would do him good and help him reach his full ability, also, that might give us more idea about how good he is.

I think Bellamy would have to be a back up player, but I think he could do a good job next season. I think that Benjani and Evans have to go.

the african cup of nations will take adebayer out of the equation for several weeks so top quality strikers will need to remain to keep us in the hunt for a top 4 place

City can say how much they are going to pay him to the panel hearing the Permit, doesnt mean personal terms have been agreed, just means City will disclose what they intend to pay him. He does have permission to talk to us though.

Nope, it has to be accurate infomation that is given to the panel, not a guess. This process was brought in to keep track of foreigners working over here, so you can't just put any figure on the application, otherwise it would be very easy to get around the system.

Personal terms have been agreed.

Use your eyes! I just said its my opinion! Bloody hell this site gets worse by the day for people jumping on your back, the term "in talks" means exactly that, we have not officialy bid for him yet so how could a fee be agreed? They are talking about a figure roughly £20M thats not ITK info thats just facts.

i didnt mean it in a you know f*ck all way its just i kinda know how these workpermit applications work coz my dad Graham Pugh has worked for the FA before bout 3 years ago and ive spoken to him about it

even if we sign him subject to a work permit he can still play in South Africa like that Sebastian Leto did at Liverpool was able to European away games but couldnt play home games but was eventually loaned out and like someone said to apply for a work permit you have to supply details of the transfer so i think that Stu bloke may have been given some wrong info along the way
I like this post, Stu's a bit gloomy isn't he.....TEVEZ! (got Tevez toretts, had it all day at work too) you don't spell tourettes? like that do you?

Guess where Togo are currently ranked?

71. one place below the 70th cut off. But it's the average over two years that's important

I think that might sneak it for us. In July 2007 Togo were ranked 59, but they have been as low as 90. It depends on how they work out the average. Do they take it every month, quarter, year etc?

Yes and No, I did post about David Villa, but tht was info given to me by a lad who worked near to me at the club, club was giving us bad info to try to see if it got out, everyone got bollocked for going to press and papers about transfer things, I posted something about this last week on another thread, the club cracked down on it all and as a consequence dont get any info at all about any tranfers, infact anyone outside the boadroom wont either! The stuff I posted about the transfer today is just my opinion, dont bother callin me a wum ive had it time and time again this is supopsed to be a discussion not a war. I can post about injury updates and things as thats my job more or less and I wont get in the shit for it either.

I don't think it matters. Even if he doesn't meet those requirements, he's a good enough player to get one anyway.

Where an application does not meet the published criteria, a club may request a panel to consider the player's skills and experience. In these cases The Football Association will refer the club's evidence to an independent panel.

The panel's terms of reference are:

- To consider whether the player is of the highest calibre.

- To consider whether the player is able to contribute significantly to the development of the game at the top level in England.

Must of missed that? As I only heard him say "theres a deal to be done" which doesnt really constitute a deal been agreed.

OI! Im not gloomy! Im very happy, looking forward to meeting Mr Tevez! Just trying to keep a lid on things!

I think that before we are allowed to talk to another teams player permission has to be given, that being in the form of a bid as it shows intent to buy, so i would say a fee has been agreed and personal terms to have a new work permit etc so i think we are nearly there with him, also i believe that a medical could have been completed, as why would we run the risk of not getting a permit if he hasnt had a medical, as we all know it can all go tits up at that point
