Adebayor to Spurs

You know... I watched the Champions League draw this morning and I was so happy. Didn't care that we drew a strong group. I look forward to watching the games.

This, though, has me irrationally pissed. I mean so angry I wanted to throw my computer monitor. I hate the spuds. I hate them at least as much as I hate the rags. If Redknapp was on fire, I would piss on him only because I know that wouldn't put the fire out and it would make his corpse smell even worse. I hate them all. Helping them do anything other than to a wretched end is like a knife to my soul.

This is exactly my view on this deal. I cannot think of a worse club (other than the rags) to have loaned him too. He will score goals in that side and pick up a lot of points courtesy of him. I just hope we steam roller them on Sunday to give ourselves a nine point gap over them.

He'll start well - like he did for us, but over the season he won't be prolific. (I hope) !

OK, enough with the fence-sitting!

Tell us how you really feel about this deal.
I will admit to feeling somewhat disgruntled. I mean... how do we win here? His wages don't count in FFPR because he signed before the period. He's got what? Two years on his contract left?

So he either goes off and scores loads of goals helping the fucking cancer of a team out of its own self-inflicted cesspit and challenge points-wise for the competition we want to remain in, i.e. the Champions League...

Or he sucks bong water and we end up with him back here at the end of the season worth even less after we've probably paid half his damn wages anyway.

I can't see Sneijder being loaned out, can you remember a player in his prime who was valued at £30m-£40m being sent out on a season-long loan?
Ibrahimovic, but I agree it looks unlikely.

with the length it takes for our targets, major groundwork would have to already be done and have to have been kept under wraps for any other transfer of significance to take place.

-- Thu Aug 25, 2011 5:04 pm --

Ian McGarry saying we're paying 2/3s of his wages, surely he's chatting shit??

If that is true, it is sickening. But McGarry who is saying this is notorious for getting things wrong.

sincerely doubt we'd let Spurs play our player and only pay 40-50k of it. What did they plan to do with those huge bids for Giuseppe Rossi, Andy Carroll etc the past few windows? Pay them in chocolates?

They better be paying all of his wages. Also if there is a clause to buy him it should be around £10 to £15 million for him. This club has to take a stand against players and clubs looking to get them on loan or on the cheap.

Giving a striker to a rival seems a bit of a stupid decision. I will never understand some of the decisions that are made by some clubs.
