Adebayor to Spurs

Does everyone on here think that the club is totally stupid? Do you think that there's someone out there willing to pay big money for Adebayor and we are CHOOSING to loan him to Spurs instead? What if the only other option available to the club is to keep him on the books and pay all his wages? Lets say he's on 160k (and I have no idea how accurate that figure is) and Spurs are willing to pay 80k. That means we've saved circa 4 mill over the course of the loan, plus Spurs will probably have the option to buy at the end of the loan and even if they don't exercise this option, he will have been in the shop window and away from the rest of the squad where he would probably have been a sulking/unhappy pain in the arse. Maybe it's not ideal, but it's not the terrible option some make it out to be.

Poor choice of a club to offload him to in imo. ( I know there were'nt too many suitors)
I thought his 'Dad washed elephants and his Mum was a whore' according to Spuds fans.

Any truth in the Lennon rumours mate ?

Adebayor is a great player. He didn't like being a No. 2 to Tevez

Great player, wrong club, wrong time.

Or maybe more like as simple as just great player, wrong manager.

Almost any other club would be talking about the impact of losing a player of Adebayor's calibre in a grave and serious way, as one of the talking points of the year. We're lucky that it doesn't really matter all that much to us, it'ls almost reminiscent of Real Madrid getting rid of Sneijder (albeit hopefully not with a similar outcome!)

I lose a little faith in common sense every time i read this thread....

Some people need to stop giving opinion as fact, or correct..

In simple terms even paying half of Ade's wage bill will be great for our FFP forecast.

His wage's do not count against us because his deal was in 2010, but the loan fee and the % of salary they pay will all be classed as income. So £5m wage saving + the £2m fee, £7m towards FFP compliance.... It really is that simple, and what the entire deal is about.

Forget helping Tottenham, if they are still our rival then we are in trouble.
I would like to be reassured that UEFA would not deem this to be an attempt to get round the FFP rules. But if is a fact - and not just your opinion - then it is decisive for me (given the absence of other suitors).

Getting your uncle to name your stadium may be "getting round the FFP rules". Loaning a player to another club is as clean as it comes. There is nothing wrong with making deals with FFP in mind. The fact that this is a deal with a competitor makes this completely above board.

Personally I'd offer a better deal to a club abroad, would rather not pay £100,000 a week to help spurs.

And when Ade said no, what would you do then?

let him rot in the reserves

Heart speaking not your head. 7 Million of income for FFPR is better business.
