Adebayor's ban

Difference is Ade was celebrating a goal during a match in which he was baited from before KO. He was fouled and abused all day, and has had legions of critics questioning his character for months. I really empathise with him, and I like him a lot for what he did.

He caught Van Persie. But you forget he was provoked. His detractors should take a long hard look at their own conduct.
Unfortunately, none of that matters one jot.

I think people are missing the point, though I do understand the sentiments.

Adebayor will be judged on his actions and his actions alone. It won't matter about the attempted hack by RVP, it wont matter what Arsenal were singing all game and it really wont matter that a steward was sparked out in the melee. That's just the way it is.

The FA will not give a shit about any of those things though as a number of people have pointed out, in theory they cannot increase the punishment for the celebration as he was booked at the time.

also the two footed challenge by van persie in the first place will not be judged either.

WHat about RVP running over to our fans and telling them to fuck off ?

Ere, ere. The fucking soft, goofy, horse faced twat. The difference with his gobbing off at the blues fans and Ade's celebration, is that there was no reason for Van Persie to do it. The City fans didn't react like toy town Billy Brights and those mard arse give it can't take it cockney twats did. In relation to the so called stamp, If you fly into a tackle with both feet with the intention of carting another player in the air and end up with a crack for your troubles TOUGH SHIT !
May I add, for all those City fans who may consider condemming Ade. Well, I have supported City for years and I'm sick of seeing teams like Arsenal play some City sides and as soon as a bit of grit is needed we crumble and end up getting bullied off the park thus dicked in the game. Yes, our team look like they have a backbone and I'm proud of them. So, everyone else can go and get fucked !!!!

Re: the 'celebration' though, it was completely classless and the bloke has made a clown of himself. No doubt all the people who think it was brilliant were booing Dickov for celebrating in front of the Leicester fans when he scored and booing Dickov for having the cheek to come back with another team. They might have even been the same ones who threw the toys out of the pram when SWP left, just because he left.

I would be all for a ban for that sort of 'celebration'. It was petty beyond belief.

Saying all that, we all know that Gary Neville didn't get one (and I don't think Henry did either when he did something similar against Spurs). So, we'll no doubt see a further example of one rule for the rags and one rule for others coming up sometime soon.

I dont recall the South Stand putting stewards in hospital though when Dickov done it?

What has the subsequent reaction of fans got to do with how you judge Adebayor's behaviour?

The Arsenal fans who kicked of are knobs.

I however am commenting on the hypocrasy of people. People were spitting their dummy out when Dickov did nothing more than do his job, slating a player who is integral to the history of this club, and slating Distin, a player who gave great service, for doing nothing more than turning up (Yes, he reacted in the second half - which I can't defend - but only after he had been booed and abused for 60 minutes).

People just seem to have double standards regarding what they are willing to defend and what they find hilarious.

For me, taken on it's own, he should be banned for it. However, there is the Gary Neville precedent and therefore, if they are being fair and consistent, he shouldn't. We all know they don't do fair and consistent when it comes to that lot though.

It looks an intentional stamp in slow motion but not too bad at full speed, but the FA will be looking at this in slow motion so he is going to get a minimum 3 match ban for that (this is the FA we are discussing here) so we will just have to take it on the chin. As for the celebration he has been punished by the ref with a yellow card so as far as i'm aware their isn't much the FA can do. However I will not be surprised if the FA create a new rule or loophole and he ends up with a fine and a ban or suspended ban along with his 3 match ban.

And as for those who want Van Persie's challenge to be investigated, thats as likely as us getting a penalty at the swamp next weekend!

He won't get banned for the celebration.

However a 3 match ban for the stamp is a certainty. If it comes after the United game then I'd feel a little easier about it given the games we have.
