Adebayor

There's still a balance though surely. Course he wants to play but he also wants to be paid an amount he feels he is worth as we all do. Or we'd all be helping out building houses and digging wells in Africa.
The problem here is as much Spurs trying to screw every penny which they are entitled to do.
Although the original problem stems from that prick Hughes.

Couldn't agree more with the last sentence.
Hughes' legacy unfortunately lives on and will until we offload Ade and RSC....

I just dislike the bullshit he spouts.
He goes on about first team football being the be all and end all to him, yet it clearly is not.

If he just said "i want to be financially secure above all else for the rest of my life" i would accept that.
Just don't lie to us with that big fake shit eating grin.
We dont know what Spurs are offering him tbh. What if they are offering him 70k a week. thats 100k less than what he was on

If Spurs are offering him £70k a week, then they can afford to sweeten the deal with a £7m offer to Adebayor to make up for the pitifully small transfer fee being asked of them.

For £5m you get Cameron Jerome, not a 15 goal a season Premiership player.

You get him for 4 million actually. Also Ade doesnt have the best reputation out there, that carries some weight as well

What a greedy bastard. He knows spurs value him, its not about that anymore. Spurs simply dont have the money we have, so how can he possibly hope to get what he's getting here at City. And seriously once you're that fucking rich...do you really need to be paid that much. Its fucking disgraceful
Stop talking out of your arse.

Would I take a £75'000 pay cut after a club said they didn't want me.

Would I fuck!

Apparently he's been offered a 4-year £20m deal plus a £5m signing on fee.

That's £25m over the next 4 years. Add to that his last six years wages and that's probbaly another £20m. How much is enough?

He's paid £170k a week to play for City. He doesn't play for City now. He's either going to go to another club on less wages or he's sitting out the next two years scratching his arse.

And you're right, he can sit there. But what self-respect issues must he have to do that given he's a multi-millionaire that will probably never spend the money he's already earned.

Sometimes a clean-break is worth losing a few quid for. Ask a divorced man and he might agree!

But why take a complete gamble on buying another striker when you know the one you had last season could do the business for you.

If we miss out on VP due to Adebayor then there is no way I would sanction a move to Spurs.

What reputation?

He was Spurs best striker last season, scored loads, made loads, not a hint of trouble. He told everyone he loved it there.

Even AVB still wants him. Or is he being ignorant about Adebayor's reputation as well?

Umm, i never said he should, i just objected to him lying about his priorities.

His priority may have been to get in City's team & earn loads of money & win stuff. Now, even if he signs for Spurs, he has stepped down a level from when he left Arsenal, so he's trying to get the best deal he can, as well as play football. That's what I would do.

I am not talking about if he is personal reasons and motives, as i stated quiet clearly i would prefere him to not lie and be honest.
I am not interested in "may have's" and "what if" type speculation.
I am going of what i see and hear is actually happening.

His claims first team football are his main priority do not hold up against his actions.
He has been offered a very nice pay package at spurs so the football first stuff is just rubbish.

I'll say it again. I do not care what his motives and reasons are, just be honest about them.

So all other footballers need to be honest about their motives then ?

So Yaya, Aguero, Silva, Balotelli, Nasri, etc should all admit that they wouldn't have touched City with a barge pole if they weren't offered shitloads of money ?

Do you really think footballers are going to tell everyone their first consideration is money ? Can you give an example of one ?

Why should Adebayor have to be 100% honest when no other footballer ever is ?

BAE said it, there is your example.

The situations are not the same are they, are Aguero etc surplus and wanted of the wage sheet ?.
Have they been in this situation ? No.
Furthermore, they have not said what he has then been put to the test have they.
He has and has been shown imo to be lying.

Do i think they would have come without cash incentive ? no they would not.

Give similar circumstances and i can give you an answer, until then there are no similarities to Ade given the names you mention.

I do not expect all players to be 100% honest no, it would however be nice if they were.
I never said Ade "should" be 100% honest, i said i would prefere it if he was.

That said the world is not perfect is it :)
