Adverts that drive you mad

If you think about some of the adverts/public information films over the years, we've had -

  • Learn to swim - Rolf Harris
  • Save water - Stuart Hall
  • Clunk, click - Jimmy Saville
and we even had Fred Talbot telling us the weather, no wonder we're all fucked up.

Yes, I'm surprised my telly is still on the wall and not been chucked through the window.

It does make you wonder with some of these ads, if/how they actually get people to buy the services and how much of an opposite affect to sales they have.
Well; I guess marketing men will point to the fact that we are aware of the ad, and the product it's promoting, as proof that it's working.

All of the ones where people are having a conversation about their funerals or their alarms or their windows its like whoever came up with those have never heard humans speak to each other.

Those awnings ads that seem to be popular at the moment. The one where the kid is gawping up as the awning opens/closes (can't remember which). It's an awning, it's not the mother ship from Close en-fucking-counters landing in your back garden.

The ID Mobile ads used for the E4 sponsorship.
Seems to be normalising people being hypnotised by content on their phones. Bloody weird behaviour!

I can live with Stuart Hall saving water but......Rolf Harris in a swimming pool full of kids and Jimmy Saville 'struggling' to put a seat belt on some poor unsuspecting child just beggars belief.

The talksport bet app add. I inadvertently know every word to it, and have even rubbed a bit of funk on it.

It will not leave my head.

Thought i would catch up on the days news.

This is the M.E.N. Website (aka the advert website) which greated me

It’s beyond a fucking joke.
Even had to chuck something about the Rags in….

Lebara seem to have mastered the knack of making dreadful adverts. There was Sophie from Stockport, then those two checkout girls. Is there a new one out? I was in another room, and only heard what I think was one.
