Aguero's disallowed goal

But the rule in Football is “clear and obvious mistake” if replays shows he was onside then it is exactly that?
It was NOT a clear and obvious mistake, simples. If it takes 3-4 viewings to decide then it is unlikely to be changed. The point of VAR is to overturn obvious clangers. Incidentally, Hazard was level when breaking through later on but was flagged off-side, so it's swings and roundabouts.

Linesman called offside, the pictures on TV showed it was very close - no problem with the decision.

Aguero gets hit in 5 seconds, why no VAR? Second half we appeal for handball (in my opinion it isnt) very similar to one given against us mid week (which also shouldn't have been) except its from a crossbut no VAR.

I'm ok with close calls and I'd hope some of the Liverpool offsides might get seen. But where is the consistency. When should it be used.

Why can't it be put on the big screen so everyone fans, players, managers and the Ref see the same thing - stop this hiding, this secrecy, if there is nothing to hide let's all see it if nothing else it would reduce the paranoia I feel that they are trying to shaft us. Let refs explain decision during (via mic) or afterwards, of course they will get things wrong but they do now, but they will get more respect for being honest and open.

We can get shafted time and time again because we dont make a deal out of any bad decisions. Pep should be questioning the elbow to sergio the out right body checks and last gasps tackle on our players! One player doing it 2 seconds apart plus that Var decision Pep should be asking why wasnt that given?!

The problem is the we are using a different version of VAR to EUFA. If they were swapped we’d not have given away the handball penalty and we would have scored yesterday! We seem to be going down the ‘clear and obvious mistake’ route, EUFA seem to be reviewing everything a changing the decision accordingly. Meanwhile, FIFA would have told the assistant NOT to flag but the outcome thereafter is anyone’s guess!
Only in football could you have a definitive review system implemented at least 3 different ways....

But when is it ever ruled in our favour ? Go back to the clear penalty against Burton where they seemed to feel sorry for Burton and didn't give it.
But back to yesterday, I was at the game and accepted in was offside, then later I see where they have drawn a line showing he is onside. VAR is meant to rule out mistakes and controversy, it seems, or at least the officials seem to be doing the opposite.

it was offside. Just.

I was sitting right in line and it looked clear offside. In fact we said we couldn't understand why they were bothering with VAR when it was so obvious. Then when I watched in on TV, guess what, it's not quite so obvious after all. Marginal I would say. And I certainly don't feel aggrieved that it was disallowed. But then when you think that the attacker is supposed to be given the benefit of the doubt, that puts a different light on it.
As someone said earlier it's a classic "umpire's call".
It also highlights the difference between making a judgement in real time and with the benefit of slomo.

A massive part of "soft power" in sport is making a fuss about decisions. It's why Real Madrid and Barcelona get so many easy decisions in Spain - every referee knows that if they have a 50/50 decision to make and they go against Barca/Real, it'll be in every paper for a week. If they give it for them, it'll be a footnote in the local paper of the small club.

United, Juventus, Bayern... they all do this much better than us.

For what it's worth, I think he was offside. The yellow line thing that Sky showed was not from a side on angle, and it's also not the VAR official view which has a bunch of yellow lines measuring how parallel different points are.
