Ajax Fans Tonight

Funny how when MCFCLiam slagged them off after Amsterdam he got a load of stick yet we now have a full thread of people saying the same...

english football fans arnt arrogant lol.

Its ok to invade someone elses City congregate were the police asked you not to, block the streets getting totally pissed up and then whinge like fuck when the local police turn up a bit miffed
When was this?

most recently, Amsterdam

Were we told not to congregate there? That's where football fans always go. I don't think the police were miffed until the Ajax fans started kicking off. The police seemed to be laying into Ajax trouble causers if anything.

that may be case were asked to congregate in Dam Sq. Im not dissing the fact it was mainly good natured stuff and banter

The point im trying to make is people are slagging the Ajax fans off for being moody and arrogant or whatever reason, yet its ok for the British football to turn up wherever they want in someone elses cities and take liberties but thats ok.

Fair enough. I thought they were fine last night. I just saw what you said about us, that's all.

They got a major shitty on just before the players came out when i Feyanord flag was shown to them. That City fan was then escorted out

the city fan with a feyanord flag is a numb cnut. and deserved what he got

Can I ask why? After seeing a united flag on tv for 2 hours @ Ajax I can't see why it'd be a problem

Ahh but they'd have caused a riot which they nearly did when stewards tried to get rid.

We are more civilised.

Loads of them had crap sunglasses on, is that a Dutch thing or an Ajax thing?

Think it's an Italian thing. But in Holland you see it more and more these days.

They didn't sing for 90 mins don't know why people are spreading that myth. Sounded like typical euro fans to me, banging a drum to make a lot of sporadic noise

We were pretty shite to be honest. I don't know why all the English clubs have this malaise set in. It could be the ticketing or maybe we are a bunch of self concious miserable munters. Or perhaps we just can't be arsed. 2 goals conceded in 17 min didn't help, and if it was the other way around then we would have been going bananas and they would be weeping into their drum.

I think coordination is the key too. We had people, myself included, singing. But it was sporadic, haphazard. 38,000 voices to bring to bear but no direction to it.

The other thing is that away fans always seem loud and co-ordinated because they are a manageable nucleus. I remember hearing our lot over at their gaff and thinking blimey, we are shouting them down.
