Will Kompany get back in the side as first choice? Stones and Otto/ Kolarov.

If Kompany can stay fit he will force his way back into the team. People forget fast just how fucking good he is. He stays fit i see our main partnership being him and Stones.

I'd just like to say that Kolarov becoming one of the stand-out players in the team under Pep WHILST PLAYING HIM AT CENTRE BACK is one of the most fucked up things I have ever experienced as a City fan. Just bizarre.

Haha snap

I honestly thought he'd be shipped out and that nasri was pep's kinda player. Shows what I know!!

Must admit, I had concerns about our centre half options this season. Thought with Kompany's injuries we might have left ourselves a bit short, but the way Kolarov has stepped us has been remarkable. He's excelled at left back too, when many of us had written him off. He's been consistently excellent so far, regardless of which position he plays.

Time for a new contract for Aleks IMO.

Always liked him, really happy to see him so settled and finally getting recognition. We made all our defenders look bad the last two seasons.

First player I wanted shipped out - but I'm man enough to eat my words (or my hat). The extra dimension he's giving us, not only with a solid defensive role, but pinpoint passes from deep is something new. He's obviously enjoying being able to use his precise footballing talents for something other than free kicks, and it certainly shows.

Anyone know how many passes he played yesterday and the accuracy? Can imagine it being a really high number for a CB.

aleks has been a revelation this season, and has proved any doubters wrong including me, pep really is a maestro

As a coach, can there be anything more satisfying than turning a previously underrated, under-appreciated player into a legend?

It's got to be the ultimate litmus test for your skills and judgement.

That why Brian Clough is so revered. He was incredible at turning journeymen into top players.
Indeed.
Most of that Forest team were washed up journeyman/unknown players and he turned them into Div 1 Champs within a year, then European Champs the next 2 seasons.
Pep is Clough on steroids.
What he has done to this team in 2 months is simply mind blowing!
