Should be sold after that yesterday
Set the tone for the whole team

To be honest, I think picking Yaya and making him captain set the tone for the whole team. I blame Pellegrini, not just for the performance yesterday but for being too passive all season. Yaya and Kolarov should be nowhere near the starting lineup based on their performances this season but our charming man sees differently for some inexplicable reason.

I'd like to say it's nice to see people opening their eyes and coming round to the fact that Kolarov is dire, but it's not because as usual this troll's performance is detriment to the team and our league position.

It's been an irk of mine for seasons that so many people are blinded by his ability to kick a ball really hard, and seem to think he's got some quality. Admittedly who has he got to push him? No-one. Clichy is no better but at least he cares, and tries, and can bleeding defend better than the likes of Laurent Charvet. Even if he can't kick a ball really hard, doesn't try to nutmeg people and isn't (as some clown on here once threw at me as a reason why I shouldn't despise Kolarov) first to go and celebrate goals with the rest of the team.

Yesterday was a stark 90 minutes of evidence as to why this useless clot needs to be fucked off. Guardiola won't put up with his lack of pace, vision, ability, heart, work rate or DEFENSIVE UNDERSTANDING. I for one will sit much more comfortably in my seat knowing that I won't be subject to a consistent barrage of painful feigned passes forward - drag backs and passes inside down our left flank every god damn time! I'll also enjoy not having to listen to his blind admirers telling me how wonderful he is when I blow up at the game.

Given the injuries in midfield, Kolarov could play at left midfield against Spurs. We'll get nothing from the right flank, or through midfield. Kolarov really is very important to us as an attacking player. The only penetration we achieve as a team is through the sterling / Kolarov combination.

the question to ask is why we were so reliant on Kolarov for our attacking play, and why did Huth manage to score 2 from set-pieces.

To make Kolarov the scapegoat is like throwing a dart for the bullseye and entirely missing the board.

I wouldn't play him at left wing unless absolutely desperate (which we may be come the weekend with our injuries). His only attacking strength is in overlapping and that wouldn't happen if he was the left winger. I think we usually look better on the right with Navas and Zaba (or Sagna) but unfortunately, due to Navas' injury, we had no wide right player which left Zaba up and down the wing on his own with no support.

You ask how Huth came to score his goals, well he scored the first one because Kolarov committed an unnecessary foul for the free kick that Huth scored from.

But going forward we're relying on Kolarov / Sterling combo. We have nothing else at the moment. If you think otherwise tell me who had the beating of their man v Leicester. The only way on was through the combination play of those two. Take Kolarov out, and it makes us weaker in the attacking third. We could do that if we had De Bruyne, Nasri, Silva, Navas etc but we don't.

The reasons Kolarov should have not been in the startling line up was because of Clichy's good form and Leicester's pace.

Kolarov has been one of our better players for most of the season.

Spit on. The thickos on this site spend 20 pages slagging the guy off after one display that in my opinion was no worse than any one else yet completely ignore the fact that none of the goals were his fault. Why don't we concentrate on the likes of Sterling, abject again yesterday. 49m for that ? We are in a dodgy situation because of poor buys and utterly shite management, poor tactics and motivation from Dave Allen, Kolarov has generally played pretty well this season.

yes but we should have been able to defend the set-piece.

He's still a really key player for us, and the best attacking left back in the Premiership.
