Impossible to know how truthful he’s being there but either way it highlights a huge issue that should be getting far more traction:

If he’s lying about his state of inebriation and remembers full well what was discussed then that indicates he’s got something to hide.

And if he was indeed pissed up and can’t remember much then who knows what secrets he may have disclosed, inadvertently or otherwise?

At best, this meeting shows him up to have been a fucking liability. At worst, he’s guilty of treason.
 
So it could be any of three reasons he's desperate to cling onto or regain power?

1. Unadulterated narcissism
2. Maximise his ability to keep himself out of jail
3. His handlers think there's still mileage in their asset.

Or maybe a combination of the above.
I am also told white socks and sliders are a legitimate fashion choice. What a time to be alive.
 
The Telegraph is running that he's in line to be Secretary General of NATO.

Obviously, it says that it's a wheeze of senior Tories and that the French will likely veto him - can you imagine the buffoon's attempt to be serious and answering questions.

It's difficult to know which is worse, but the complete failure of judgement is lamentable, if expected.

What is certainly the case is that the committee and Chris Bryant don't think it's an acceptable answer and deliberately written to be non-specific.
 
His words count for nothing.

It could be 11.30 am and he says it’s light outside and you would have to go check because he is a fucking liar.

How the fuck is he still our PM?
 
I know I'm not British but have heard he is terrified of inquiries into his and his ministers behaviour over the last couple of years. Have been told there is a number of current and former civil servants that have been trying to record all the law breaking.
He is also trying to cover his tracks where he can because he has no confidence either Truss or Sunak can help shield him because both are so weak.
