Out of curiosity- what he really does show great leadership and performs well as a PM - bringing stability and helping the economy ?

Do we still get rid simply because he’s under the banner of conservatives?
He won’t be able to shake off his history as being a key member and cheerleader of Johnson’s corrupt government for 3 years, not to mention the non-dom scandal and his wife’s tax affairs. The opposition will make sure of that. Only Mordaunt would have a slight chance of distancing herself from that shit show.

And rightly so - they deserve to pay the price

Just curious if he magically performs perfectly as a PM, talks the talk, economy improves, makes all the big calls right etc - If this was the case then country has to come before politics - would have to really perform miracles for me to even consider Tory’s in 2 years after everything that happened

As much as people think it and the media enforce it, no one votes for a pm. They vote for a local representative that commits to enact a party manifesto.

When it comes to GE time, it should be about which party puts forward the policies in their manifesto that you think are the best, that and if one of them has been in power you’ll be able to better judge their ability to enact their own manifesto and whether it was as successful as they suggested it would be.

The rhetoric has to get away from personality or individual politics. Even Truss, it wasn’t just down to her that it all screwed up, plenty of conservatives (and right wing media) hugely supported the mini budget when it was first announced. Anyone backing that policy has to now be questioned and also remember that it clearly broke the manifesto the current government was elected on.

Yes, because he is the **** that bragged about taking money from deprived inner city areas and giving it to affluent leafy suburbs.

He's a PR creation, and nothing more than a nasty cynical power hungry ****.

He just isn't as incompetent as Truss or corrupt as Boris (but he has no need to be because of his immense family wealth).

All very hypothetical. I think the best we can hope for is that he doesn’t do anything stupid and crash the economy. There’s little doubt that millions will struggle over the next two years. However well Sunak performs, a recovery that people will actually notice is years away and would need a totally new direction policy wise that is not in the Tory’s manifesto. He’ll get the blame for Johnson’s and Truss’s mess anyway when it comes to the election.

Anybody who needs to be shown how to put petrol in a car at his age is a wrong 'un.
