They don't want to sell him is the bottom line. Wenger has drawn his line in the sand, probably fearing the fan backlash if he allowed this to happen. Those fans will probably claim this a victory but then in a few months it will hit them that he is walking away for nothing next summer.

Don't swallow the media shit. We have agreed a cash deal with no player caveat. The player thinks he's joining us.

It also means Roberts gets another year to improve so we can bring him into the squad next season. It's time to start playing the younger players instead of being lazy and being everybody.
