Alexis Sanchez

I think Arsenal had no intention of selling Sanchez and then they hit Anfield and realised that this is not going to work, the window was upon them and the only thing they could do is ask us for players.

The ball has turned full circle. Once Arsenal were the modern revolutionising club, under the French man Wenger, who brought the English beautiful football, and modern methods. City meanwhile were somewhere in the shadows suffering. Now Arsenal are run by this same man, but the world has moved on. He carries everything in his intelligent head, but its no match for systems and software of a footballing directorate whose job it is to cover the whole of European and South American football. One man cannot substitute for that and he was left massively wanting, and their lack of preparedness impacted on us.

Given the age of our squad and the turnover to get there, I don't think Pep needs a trophy to stay, he just needs to challenge on all fronts. Of course it'd be a huge disappointment not winning anything but I don't think that's the end of Pep, we've waited years for him.

The Club will expect silverware with the financial outlay over the last 2 summers, his name alone can not save him.

And that 5 months also represents 20-25% of the remainder of his career at his very prime.

All the more reason for him to look for the best deal for him financially. I nice golden handshake from City or another club will only be on the table if he goes on a free. If the club has paid a transfer fee to Arsenal that fee seriously effects what the player gets in their new contract. To wait a few months would probably boost his deal by £10M

Pep will not be sacked even if we finish outside top4 which we won't he's the reason we have all these top players because they want to play for him that alone will save him.

<--- Loves his dogs almost more than his first born.

It's his poor dogs that I feel for. Imagine the kicking they got last night.

Don't even joke, mate.

I'm not necessarily advocating sacking people but surely the point of amassing great players is so that you can challenge for title?s If he fails to do that with the resources he has available then i can't see how this season can go down as anything other than a huge failure for which he has to held accountable for. I don't have a problem with the fact we went all out to bring him in, but there also needs to be at least some contingency plan in place for if it unexpectedly transpires he's not the right man for the job. It feels like we spent a lot of time preparing to bring him here but it doesn't always feel like we've planned much further beyond that or for if it doesn't work out.

I dont know about that. If we finish outside the Top 4 after no trophies last year, perhaps the top players might no longer be in a hurry to play for him?

I'm very confident that we will make the Top 4, win trophies and he'll further enhance his reputation. But he's not immune from the need to produce results.
