Does that mean you think he is a declining force or will be?

Don't really understand how you could want him this season but not next. Very short term
If we need a forward this season and if we are trying for Sanchez the club think we do, and I'd agree. Then if we don't get Sanchez now we will probably go for a plan b which would mean next summer his position and chance will have gone.

2 years stop gap. Yes Marvin...

I have agreed with you severally on this issue. I believe like you do that he is highly likely a declining force.

I agreed with you when you said he uses speed and power in his game. I corrected (or adjusted) your claim and suggested what you meant was "explosiveness."

I agreed that explosiveness tends to decline as rapidly as speed as you age.

The fact he has also played 4 straight years of nonstop all year round football on his body the last 4 years also supports this.

All the above I agree with. I simply disagreed with your conclusion that CB is the solution instead.

A 2 year stop gap can be an effective transition from a good offense to a great one the next 2 seasons just as the great young players (Sane, Sterling, Silva and Gabriel) are hitting their WC potential stride when Sanchez and Aguero are fading.

Its not as simple as that.... we cant be seen tapping him up, all we know is what we have been told and that comes across as very vague.
I'm not suggesting we should tap him up. From.my point of view, Sanchez is currently the best player in the league, but with the amount of football he has played the last 5 years, I'd be wary of getting him at 30.

Anyway, that's all speculation. If he keeps up the performance this season, then maybe. If he doesn't. Then no :)

Or......hes the best because of all the football hes played...

this is spot on. don't mind if alexis only has a couple years left. we won't need him by then, but we need trophies this year.

If he really wants to join us then lets see if he has the balls to hand in a transfer request. I'm sure he can buy out the remainder of his contract for fuck all with only one year left.
There is no incentive for him to do that I don't think.
