Arsenal won't want this to get done, they can't replace him by tomorrow and if they won't spend the money quickly then do they really need it? The one thing they need is Sanchez and I guess it would make more sense for them to get another 4 months out of him whilst planning a replacement.

I just can't see an Arsenal team starting their game without Sanchez and without a replacement, it would probably be the worst thing Wenger could do..
You are a right happy clapper - life and soul of the party

Surely Wenger can see the giant looming sign directly in front of his eyes which states in no uncertain terms:

Selling Sanchez to City will be a mistake of gargantuan proportions. Please, for the love of God, don't do it Mr Wenger. Ignore this message at your peril.

You simply do not sell your star attraction and most influential player to a direct rival, least not one that is already a strong favourite to win the league.

If Arsenal go ahead with this deal, they will prove to the world they have lost sight of their long term ambition, which is, like any big club, to win the league.

Wenger is peripheral to this. Of course he doesn't want Sanchez to go, but equally of course, he'd like to sign Messi for £300m. Unfortunately for him, the club's owners do not live in such financial dreamland, and throwing away £70m for the benefit of a few games of football will not be appealing to them in the least. Sanchez to us is going to happen at whatever (sensible) price we want to pay.

I think that ship sailed some while ago mate.

I guess City sent a medical team along with club officials to Chile today for nothing, then.

Probably decent weather there at least.
Maybe they have gone there just in case we get an offer for Bravo! We do the medical and legal work for the potential buyer!
