Alexis Sanchez

SSN still pedalling the Aguero swap shite, on the grounds that Arsenal have apparently said they have no time to get a replacement from anywhere else and won't sell Sanchez without one. Anyone sane would just let Sanchez go given the circs, but Wenger is probably deluded enough to believe that a royally pissed off Chilean won't be a problem for him.....

Arsenal are dumb enough to keep a player who desperately wants out and is in his final year. Maybe Wenger believes Sanchez can't sulk all the way to June.

Do not have time to look for a replacement? ... the truth is that nobody in their right mind wants to play in Arsenal FC

Someone who is surplus elsewhere & would like the opportunity to show himself off in the Premier League, knowing that if he does well, Arsenal will sell him to a top club.

Like Draxler perhaps.

And SSN reporting that Arsenal will not accept a cash only bid from City. We must include a player as they have no time to bring in a suitable alternative (even though Mahrez is sat waiting for a club).

This isn't a flap, this is cold hard reality. It's now way too late in the Window for this transfer to go through. If it were a case of just buying Sanchez then it would probably be doable.

However, so inept have Arsenal been in this transfer window that they have left it far too late to find a replacement. I was saying weeks ago, that it is madness for Arsenal to keep the player against his will but on balance that is probably preferable to them, than letting him go and having no one to replace him.

They will no doubt have to work hard to win Sanchez round to giving his all but an 80% Sanchez is better than no Sanchez is probably how they see it - and they willhave to pay a 70m (if you believe the silly fee being quoted) loan fee for the privilege

If Mahrez sale is on to Arsenal then it's back on imo so I would love to be proved wrong. That, to be honest, would be the best outcome for Arsenal from all this but it seems to me like they are too inept to pull it off.

My complete guess on this

Arsenal do not want to sell ox and Sanchez without any incomings, the fans and media are already gunning for them. If they get draxler and sell Sanchez and ox at around 100 million that makes the situation more sellable. I think city are playing a dangerous game believing Arsenal will crumble over Sanchez either way hence no further bid or they expected to get rid of a few players and don't want to go as high as 70 million.

The long shot is he has already signed and we are holding off so they can get someone without the price going up, this one seems very unlikely.

Not sure City have done anything wrong, they just didn't anticipate exactly how badly run Arsenal are right now. Any decently run club would be in a position to take the money and run.

I think Wenger was hoping to keep Sanchez, this season, until his poor display at Liverpool.

Are Arsenal now trying to create a scenario where they can partly blame City if it doesn't go through, saying to Sanchez: "Sorry but it's City's fault, they were playing hardball, they didn't bid until late and wouldn't give a player in exchange, you will have to wait until January or next Summer for that move"

A dangerous game.

Sky talk nonsense. Turned it off when they asked Smith and Hinchcliffe could Aguero go to Arsenal. Even Smith and Hinchcliffe laughed.

Didn't this happen with Gareth Barry ? Wanted to sign him in summer, villa said no and we got him in January for less because he was in his final year ?
