Alexis Sanchez

I am not ignoring what they're capable of. You are ignoring what they are actually producing, and have produced for 4-5 years since Purple Nose departed.

They are in organizational shambles, just like a huge company whose megalomaniac founding CEO departs leaving no management infrastructure in his wake.

I've posted this multiple times on the rag thread. It is going to take them YEARS to catch up to us structurally. YEARS.

They are producing enough to be the second best team in the country behind a side who is producing form that no other side has ever shown. I don't disagree that they are a shambles off the pitch but get enough top players on the pitch and they will challenge for trophies and that is what they seem to be doing.

Well again, if it was just 'taking the money' imo that would be a poor choice, but if he has an agreement with City as reported, & all is working perfectly to plan, Arsenal are signing a replacement, as agreed with City, then he reneges on the deal, for money, he is a ****.
That’s what I mean about injury. One bad moment in March leading to a blown ACL and it’s all over. No one would sign him in the summer and we wouldn’t honor that promise, I guarantee. I’ve seen things like that happen actually. A young NFL prospect blew out his knee in his last university game that he was only playing in out of loyalty to his school. Done. Lost millions of dollars and never heard from again. I’d look to see where he’s at assuming I could find him but it’s likely too depressing to contemplate.

Txiki has to analyze what went wrong here and with the Alves deal in the summer.

Also what happened with Alexis deal in the summer when we were ready to throw much more money at this transfer.

These romantic bullshit that players wanna come and play for Pep is nice but they want it to be backed up by overinflated transfer prices and wages and bonuses etc.

Alexis ending up at the closest rival is a shit situation we can deal with it this season as we have a huge lead.

Txiki seems to be ready to make a stand to greedy agents but he needs to be ruthless when next time he tries to offload players and accepts loans with us playing salaries again.

Chelsea is a master of it, they got huge deal from Diego Costa sale who had horrible problem with Conte asnt coming back for training etc, yet they got great fee for him. If it us Costa probably would have been left for free like Nasri, Tevez...

We are going to deliver the title this season and we have to go out in the summer and improve the team big time. Simply by finishing the misery of Kompany, someone brought in as new Fernandinho and looking deeply to fin the new Aguero as well, also a left back for Mendy to rotate with.

Now save the money on Alexis and Evans imo, and try to think ahead for summer window.
Not being funny mate but what has gone wrong - officially

Personally, I'd rather them have Sanchez and we have a younger top-class player, than the other way round.

Sanchez seems to have been in decline so far this season, though they may be due to unhappiness at Arsenal.

I'd be happy enough if we got him, but wouldn't be too bothered if we missed out.

You see I'm the opposite. I think we have enough young attacking talent in Jesus, Bernardo, Sterling and Sane who we need to focus on developing. Having too much young talent will hinder their progress which is the reason why Chelsea had to get rid of KDB and Lukaku.

Whereas bringing in ready made world-class talent like Sanchez takes the pressure of them and gives us a better shot at winning the CL.

Honestly I don't mean this to be offensive but your hatred for MUFC completely blinds you of reality...

Pogba is immense when he's "on" but he was probably overpriced.
Matic was an excellent signing.
Lukaku I agree with you.
Martial is an excellent prospect and already very decent.
Valencia is a not amazing I agree.
De Dea is among the top 5 keepers in the world now.
Rashford is also a very good prospect.

Sanchez will certainly improve them if he plays in the middle instead of Lukaku but it would mean a complete change in style. If he plays wide then it’s instead of Rashford or Martial who are both quality anyway, both with the pace Sanchez might not have in 12 months.

It would be an outstanding signing for us this year in terms of the champions league but probably not as good next year when Sterling/Sane/Jesus have had another year to improve.

Txiki doesn't have to analyze anything. He is the DoF not the CEO. Soriano and Khaldoon sign off transfers and how much money the club can spend. If Khaldoon suddenly tells Txiki to go ahead and offer Sanchez 500k a week, what do you think will happen? Crazy how Txiki gets blamed for literally everything. We're not getting gazumped (if at all Sanchez is going to the rags), the club is consciously making a decision to not bid higher.

Players that are expected to be drafted high (you said he lost millions so I assume he was going high) take out insurance policies to cover them from just that.

Pogba has done nothing and continues to do nothing over than lose posession and do tricks he wouldn't have pulled off in 5 years.
Martial has done nothing, continues to do nothing and seems to be continuing this trajectory
Rashford was a Flash in the pan, Pep has as many Premier league manager of the months this season as rashford does goals.
De Gea will not dive if he knows he's not getting it, he's a con artist who has a bit of talent, good at positioning and even better at acting.

i will not respond about this again as, god forbid, I don't want a thread ban. But United are not as good as you or other people make out to be.

Right its 9am here so I'm a bit behind...can someone fill me in? Done and dusted to united or all just speculation?

I get the feeling United may have gotten giddy a tad early here.

Let's not forget, Sanchez agent has left us hanging twice already. He has form for leading teams to believe a deal is in place.

He did and he did get $1 million by my recollection. He would have made 20-30 times that much in a signing bonus if his knee held.
