The issue with looking at NFL as a comparison is there are no international games in that shit sport. So this north vs south bullshit already exists it's called England vs Scotland
Can we ban managers with waistcoats though? Why don't we have say all the best English players in one team, all the best Spanish players in another team, all the best Portuguese players in another team, and so on.
Maybe make it more of a tournament type thing, that might catch on.
Maybe. Not sure what value the Norwich model adds though and teams just coming to city (and a couple of others, to be fair) and sitting with 11 behind the ball doesn’t necessarily strengthen the league.Think 8 championship teams coming up would weaken the premier league.
They’d get rid of relegation, then make each club buy their spot each season. Then they could go down the franchise route and move teams around.
Funnily enough, one of the things I would change would be relegation. In our current set up I’d have 6 or 8 relegated, every season. No parachute payments but a huge chance for teams to get into the PL and win the bag of gold plus it might just lead to teams playing a more expansive game as the stigma of relegation wouldn’t be anything like as great and the chances of a return would be much greater.
They’ve got to be careful, football fans don’t like change much. If they did try to NFL it up, loads would stop going. Especially in times like we are in now.Thought mine was a worse case scenario!
Loads would THREATEN to stop going and this the owners both know and love. They’ve got to be careful, football fans don’t like change much. If they did try to NFL it up, loads would stop going. Especially in times like we are in now.
Well, of course the proof of the pudding would be in the eating, but I’d struggle watching the Manchester Blue Sox.Loads would THREATEN to stop going and this the owners both know and love.
