Altercation at Terminal 2

An angle I and probably most wouldn't have considered. There is a lot to it and all happens so fast. It is certainly not as simple as a basic loss of control or temper.
I think you could easily argue that in his mind he had to exert such force on the first male to ensure he was not going to be a further threat in order to move to the first male.

Indeed, he does that. It’s violent it’s potentially v dangerous but he stops the first male. The taser whilst temporarily incapacitating him was not a guarantee to do this. This was a deranged and out of control violent individual intent on doing untold harm to the police.

I'm not sure that's true. Doesn't sound like it is, and I'm pretty sure there are numerous cases of people getting done for assault and manslaughter in such circumstances.

Either way, not particularly relevant here. Other than, you are right it will hinge on whether the situation was under control and whether he was still a threat. From what I have seen, I don't think it was, and I think he was still a threat, even some time after the kick.
Is there? I don't know it would seem madness that you are expected to stand there and just get punched. I watched a documentary a few years back called one punch killers and what you state certainly wasn't the case.

How would you assess if someone was cut out for such a situation prior to giving them the position?

If anyone thinks that because this copper kicked the lad while dazed and after being beaten up he isn’t fit to perform his job they’re just clueless idiots
easy from your armchair

Just watched the news. It seems this group had been causing trouble in at least two other places before this. The copper go a beating as his two females colleagues go a beating as well. The copper go away from his attacker and tasered him. Than tackles the one who attacked his two female colleagues. The copper deserves a medal.

I thought the blonde female cop was really good and it probably makes me slightly sexist in a way as I was impressed because she was a woman and bravery

As the lad decked the redhead she still lunged toward him on instinct and then covered up in a shell to protect herself, as soon as he left her to jump on the male cops back she was straight out with the taser and took him down

Brave young lady

I think they were all incredibly brave-they never backed off.
