If not then I'll concede that none of us really know for sure how it would play out if that exact same situation happened at a Spanish airport but I will add that I've witnessed enough organised thuggery from Spanish police in Madrid around the CL semi-final in 2016 to know that that particular lot think they can do what they want without retribution. And that's without any fucker throwing punches at them!

The police here, rightly or wrongly instil a bit of fear and respect from the public so I’d imagine there weren’t many brave enough to throw punches in the first place.

Seems the U.K. police force are not quite as feared going off several incidents I’ve seen over the last few years on SM.

They had guns & yet they chose pepper spray, tasers & their feet & they were all arrested without serious injury.

i was having a drink in a bar on the sea front in benidorm a couple of years ago and there was a group of about 12 blokes probably a stag do, one of em decided to strip off and run to the sea and back, when he returned he ran straight into a copper who grabbed him and gave him a good few whacks on his arse with his baton and he didn't hold back, gave him a right leathering, his mates visibly shrank and sheepishly stayed in the background while the crowd that gathered gave the copper a round of applause, if that happened here the copper would probably have been attacked and suspended amid screams of police brutality, very little fear of the police here
 
Manchester airport police are refusing to carry weapons in protest at the treatment of their colleague.
