ok to cut a long story short

a sixteen year old blue i know has been boasting about putting a deposit down for blackpool away (note, never been to an away game in her life- yet sounds like she has a ticket)

to put a long story short, i was fuming at this, telling her to buy tickets through the club so that she can qualify directly for tickets

its a joke, i have over 4000 pts, dont use branches, yet if i cant get a ticket after many years of crap aways for this one, and someone like her can, the whole ticket system for OS clubs needs sorting

Spot on.

I think he's correcting your spelling of naive ;) not that you are naive.

i know that but he also highlighted a part of his post

To me it works the same as a few mates getting together and sorting each other out only on a bigger scale. You could get a few hundred mates together and using their loyalty points get as many tickets as you possibly could and distribute them however you want to and at the same time earn more points for the people with the top points, enabling you to get more tickets in the future. What would stop this happening if the OSC was scrapped?

I've used supporters clubs and got tickets for games I shouldn't have based on loyalty points, however, I have also been to loads of games few others could be arsed with. I also never got any loyalty points for any of the games I went to.

It's hard because if some people don't go down this route then they are unlikely to get to a big away for a number of years and are waiting on people dying and hoping individuals don't abuse the system by buying tickets for games they have no intention of attending. I have now started on my own and am trying to build up as many points as possible under my own steam.

OSC do abuse there power for tickets. I went on a coach trip to a game last season where tickets were like rockin horse shit. There were people on that coach who were no where near old enough to get enough points, then there were adults who had child tickets becuse they did not want to pay the full price. So please no one tell me OSC do not abuse the ticket distribution

What game? And what Branch did you go with? It's so easy to make up a story, so come on back up your claims and name a Branch. Your talking fucking shit if you dont name and shame.

Please dont accuse me of talking shit. I am to old in the tooth for making up stories. Just trust me that it happened. naming the osc would not make any difference. All I was stating that everyone knows it goes on but those in OSC will do all they can to justify it

OK, I asked a question of the OP on page 13 of this thread.......... no response......... so I looked at every page again (yes I know I am a sad person but it beats doing the housework!!) and the OP made the statement/asked the question and has not been seen since! So either he DID want to get people complaining about the OSC and is just a trouble stirrer or he is appearing here with a different name ...... I know what my opinion is!!

(Of course it could be a she!!)

Maybe its more to do with the fact that as someone who's been registered for 5 years with what, 200 posts? that its safe to assume that I hardly post/come on here

And my opinion hasn't changed at the time, and all I made this thread for was asking if I was wrong for having that opinion, and judging that its now at 27 pages there seem to be people who share the same viewpoint

that is all

When i 1st read that i thought it was strange for these reasons.
1.assuming the person who knows the 16 yr old girl is 16 how did he get 4,000 loyalty points, that's some going.
2.i've never ever heard of someone putting a deposit down on a ticket at a OSC branch & the ticket will also be a childs ticket so it doesn't make sense.
3.If she's 16 then the parent would pay for the ticket, surely ?,i always did.
I still find it strange & if the dad of the 16 yr old finds out someone is putting stuff like this on an internet messageboard about his daughter he may be a tad annoyed.
Just a view observations.

Think you'll find it's long in the tooth. If you dont supply evidence to back up your claim, then I dont apologise for saying you are talking shit. I am on the committee of an OSC branch and I order tickets for the members and all you have done is cast doubt on every OSC branch. This thread has been a witch hunt against the OSC because certain posters have had a beef with their branch.
Why cant you accept that people want to be part of a branch, for the social aspect and the cheap away travel? Live and let live for Christs sake.

Well instead of getting all defensive you can tell us how the system works at the branch then can't you?
Do you ask for money in advance?
How many tickets do you decide to apply for?
How do you and the club ensure the stated selling criteria are met?
What happens if you don't get as many as you wanted?
How does the branch sell tickets that otherwise wouldn't be sold (as stated by the club)?

If someone would actually answer these questions then it might help end this. But no one connected to a branch will.

No - this thread is about people getting tickets through branches that they wouldn't get if they applied in the normal way. Why can't you accept it happens?

Do you ask for money in advance? No, we have the use of a credit card and the money is collected when I pick up the tkts from the tkt office
How many tickets do you decide to apply for? Depends. From 5-25
How do you and the club ensure the stated selling criteria are met?The majority of our tikts are ordered for members with enough points that they would all get tkts by the 2nd day of sale anyway. I dont mind doing the run down to the stadium to pick them up. It's all about being part of the Branch.
What happens if you don't get as many as you wanted? Distributed by loyalty points
How does the branch sell tickets that otherwise wouldn't be sld (as stated by the club)? If the club ( MCFC ) still have tkts left after all the days of sale are passed, they will ask if we want any more. I only order for members that qualify, never order more than we need and that is the Gods honest truth

-- Sun Sep 05, 2010 12:57 pm --

And by the way, I dont have to defend myself to you or anyone else on here. As I have said, if the OSC isnt your thing then dont bother with them but why cant you let people decide for themselves. You had a bad experience with LOSC and I can understand your frustrations but we dont all work on the committees to lord it over people

Remind me next time to get a camera to gather evidence for you. Do you issue tickets to those without enough points? thus by passing the criteria. look fans can get tickets from other means however they should be sold to the fans with the right points through mcfc first.

Just a quck question.

Is there any reason why an OSC member can't ring up the ticket office/line and get his or her own ticket, just like the rest of us?

If not, I fully understand and appreciate the roll of the OSC in getting members tickets, who either don't have a telephone landline, a mobile phone or internet connection.

I rest my case.

On to the favourable beer prices the OSC members receive. ;-)

Why now all of a sudden. This criteria has been used for years. The camera comment was uncalled for, you could trot out any kind of story on here without backing it up, do you think thats fair. Do you think it's alright for you to besmirch the character of every Branch committee member with UNSUBSTANTIATED remarks. Believe it or not, we are not all wide boys out to make a buck we genuinely care about the branch and its social responsibility.

At least everyone here gets loyalty points... I go with the club bar east stand because its cheap, but we don't get points at all. So if I wanted to go to an away game, im expected to cough up £100+. Bit of a kick in the bollox really, citys hospitality seems reasonable, but if I wanted to go on an away game I have to pay the full wack by the looks of it.

I have a solution for any final we reach this season.

That City do not distribute any tickets to any branches. All tickets must be collected in person at the stadium, or posted to supporters who can't get to the stadium(due to where they live, etc), on the proviso that they have enough loyalty points.

Is that fair? Damned right it is.

Oh! So they can pick their seats as well? There's definitely something going on. ;-)
