Amsterdam police are a disgrace

That may well be the case SF however his shitty posts about history, having not travelled in europe etc smells of a serious WUM or rag

You're getting mad over nothing. I'm not attacking your club or your supporters, yet you're making a huge fuss. Again, as I asked in an earlier post which you chose to completely ignore, did I post anything that isn't factually correct?
You cant please everyone mate & there are some on here that are beyond help .as you have proberly concluded

I think it's called 'doing their job', and if they can't do that job properly, then maybe they should contact the relevant authorities to make other arrangements for future matches ?

But that is no longer an issue of the Amstelland police. It's an issue of every police in every country when there's football. It's no different from the Manchester police we dealt with last year when we played at that red library.

Yes it is, as it is for any other force involved in football matches, there is a code of conduct and a duty of care involved, there is also the law and burden of proof for any offences, it doesn't state 'with the exception of football fans', if they are only capable of carrying out this role with the blanket and indiscriminate lashing out on innocent bystanders then my point stands, for all of them.

without doubt
we are citizens first and foremost and should be treated accordingly
however i have complained for years that as a football fan you are treated as a second class citizen

the time we needed police presence last night was to organise the crowd as it was trying to get into the away end and yet there were none to be seen as the crush got worse and worse, it felt incredibly dangerous and no-one gave a fuck apart from the city fans imploring the watching stewards to do something
yet as we left the ground, for no real reason, there were about fifty police in full riot gear as city fans calmly and quietly strolled past, pity they weren't there three hours earlier

Totally mate, it's almost as if it's acceptable for some to lose their compassion, humanity and responsibility just because it's football, and that goes for both fans and Police.

it's just as bad over here though
on Saturday I'll probably be going to Shambles, however will they let me in?
I always have my scarf on and more often than not a football shirt yet sometimes I'm allowed in sometimes I'm not, when I quiz then they say it is police advice
go into Lloyds bar for a drink/bite to eat, eight times out of ten you are ok but the other two times they'll say 'no colours', wtf?
last season went into Simple about five times before a night match for something to eat, never a problem, but come the last game of the season when I had booked a table, we got there and they said no colours, and only two tables were taken!!!!
one week the police let you have your kids with you, the next they are not allowed?
how can you plan what you are going to do when they keep changing the goal posts, you become frustrated and then let them know how you feel, ask them to explain why and then you're accused of being a trouble causer and they threaten to arrest you

Just registered here to commentate on this, as I think it's too simple to go 'ACAB' in these kind of situations.

I am an Amsterdammer, I am an Ajax fan. I've seen many European clubs travel to the city and match-days where nothing goes wrong are rare. From the police's perspective, it's far easier to contain the English visitors rather than the Ajax fans. It'd be a waste of time, as the groups looking for trouble know every alleyway they can jump out off. The Citizens can just be beaten into the pubs until the area is clear.

It might've been a bit hard on some Citizens who did nothing wrong, but comparing this completely standard event to what happened in Madrid is lazy and makes you look uninformed. We drew Madrid the past two years as well, we know what the Spanish police is like. City, with all due respect, have no history in Europe and your fans probably haven't made many trips.

We did win the European Cup winners cup !

The rags and Real Madrid reckon trophy wins IS history !

I was just down from the Old Sailor.

City threw the first bottle over the river, which led to Ajax fans being cleared. 15 mins later the dogs came out of nowhere and we were stuck in a doorway with nowhere to go. I just put my hands up and walked down past the dog and right into the pub next door. Didnt help some dickhead blue throwing a pint in the dogs face as i walked past. This happened to two police dogs in this time.

To summarise, this was the only bad bit of police work all day but it was to an extreme scale. One blue around 50 was cleaning himself up in the pub after a baton around the head for no reason. But City were no saints and started the first bit of trouble with the bottle.

Not heard anything about Dam square. Didnt hear any Guidetti songs either but i was only in the red light district area.

i was in that crush as well squirty flower piss poor organisation 4 turnstiles and a large area packed with city trying to get in down into 8 lanes then 4 lanes chaos, took nearly 45 mins to get in and missed 1st 10 minutes.
as for trouble in town , i walked all over never saw any problems certainly no blues with feyenord flags or singing feyenord songs only heard about the old sailor but was told it was nothing major,
for me a good trip except for the match, but i learned a long time ago never let city spoil a good piss-up !
