Could someone tell me why this is different to Nasris gesture outside our training ground...not being clever, can only see that one was on TV and one was not.

IMHO there is no difference, and the club/FA need to reprimand him.

-- Wed Jan 22, 2014 3:38 pm --

Still waiting for the punchline m8.

Above one is Anne, the other Frank....Baldy there is none.

The only possible difference is that Nasri could maybe plead ignorance whereas Anelka clearly knew the significance of the gesture as he has admitted to being a good friend of Dieudonne and was doing it to support him.

More likely that the FA have no jurisdiction over private issues as far as I'm aware. I would hope someone at the club had a quiet but firm word with Nasri over it.

Slaps palm to face.

Thanks for pointing that out m8 :-0

TBH, and I'm not Jewish, I responded mainly out of anger driven by the Twunts making such a gesture and their location.

Apologies for my incompetance.

I honestly didn't see the names above the heads and I was being sincere thanking you for pointing it out to me.

I therefore take the incompetence tag :-)

It seems to be generally accepted that a number of sportsman & other 'celebs' were misled into carrying out the gesture as what they thought was 'a bit of fun' over the last year or two

However if Nasri did it in the last couple of months, its a bit different because like Anelka, he will have been aware of the connotations from the recent French media coverage. To do at Carrington (IIRC ?) could be argued as bringing our club into disrepute and worthy of internal sanction, but again only if it was done quite recently

To put it into context, Dieudonne supporters have historically even managed to persuade orthodox jews to do the gesture which they then photograph, again by saying 'it's for a bit of fun' without giving them the full picture.

The reason Anelka can't get away with this argument is that he is a longstanding friend of Dieudonnes and a fellow Frenchman so can't possibly claim he didn't know the implications in a way that Nasri might (but couldn't now of course)
