Pay 8m a year over 5 years. Whats wrong with that. Or 20m this year (supposed to have offered barca 28.5m for Fabregas) balance next year.
i will be astonished if uefa have allowed amortization after giving us a 50m cap, we could spend as much as we like if it was allowed so I can't see it.
i liked jefferson montero for ecuador, with a bit of coaching he could be a top top winger, he has everything from what i saw the other day.
tim vickery raves about him and is one of his players to make a breakthrough in this world cup.
Tim Vickery raves about Paulinho too but I reckon Luca Scapuzzi is on his way to NYCFC for £15m which should help our transfer kitty when we splash out on The Noodle.

Vickery is a Spurs fan as well and even he says Paulinho is in the wrong team for his style of play.

Boyata won't go to NYCFC because he will become a designated player with his wages, the club will want to go for a Xavi or Lampard instead.

Well, if our negotiating team didn't look for (or put in) loopholes, I'll be very very disappointed. At least clarify all sort of scenarios.

I mean, simple thing like we loan a player for 10 million loan fee with a move towards signing permanently next season for 30 million or so, the 10 million counts in this year's net transfer spend, but the 30 million for the next season.

Even his wages will see him a designated player I think.

MLS players are on like 40k a year or something like that, I could be wrong but I just remember something on the lines of that being said when Beckham went over there.

Here are the salaries for this year and just take note these are annual, look how low they are compared to European wages.

50k dollars a year to 200k dollars a year, unrel when you think about it compared to the Premier League.

We have kids earning more than that I think, Denis Suarez was nearly earning 800k pounds a year if I remember.

Fucking restrictions.... otherwise would be easy buy.

Absolutely. I don't really think we need to invest on attacking players, but Di Maria is one I'd make an exception for. People wanted Fabregas but Di Maria would offer us far more in terms of having a direct option besides Navas. If he went to any other English club I'd be gutted because he'd improve them so much. He was one of the best attacking midfielders in the world last season, so if we can't get him I hope he stays at Real.

Downside is his agent is Mendes who is causing us enough problems with Mangala

Yeah, I don't know what Txiki and Mendes' relationship is like but there seems to be nothing between the Gestifute agency and City. Di Maria, Pepe, Coentrao, Falcao, Ronaldo, Thiago Silva - all linked with City in the past, not one joined.

Here is a link to directory that can be filtered:

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.spotrac.com/rankings/mls/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.spotrac.com/rankings/mls/</a>

And one to a full alpha listing:

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.mlsplayers.org/files/April%201,%202014%20Salary%20Information%20-%20Alphabetical.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.mlsplayers.org/files/April%2 ... etical.pdf</a>

I wish they would release these in spreadsheet format (which obviously exists but I can't find it posted anywhere).

After a quick review, $36,500 annually is the lower limit (likely due to the Collective Bargaining Agreement).

The average MLS salary is $207,831 annually but 83% of players have a lower salary than the average (the higher paid players skew the mean, of course). If I had a spreadsheet version of the salaries I could do a proper analysis.

Looks like Di Maria and Mangala to City not going to happen then. We move on..
