So you don't consider that faced with the consequences of Brexit many MPs have been guided by their primary duty which is to act in the best interests of the country.

These same MP's new what no deal looked like when they voted for A50.

If you listen to them they also knew what it looked like when they voted for the ref and the question asked but it didn't stop them.

Only ending up on the losing side has seen them suddenly face the consequences which I'm afraid makes me think that they are just fucking sore losers who now will stop at nothing to get their own way, to win and fuck the consequences of those actions.

I heard an argument that if forced the Government could send the letter asking for an extention for a further 3 months if they are legal bound to, however as this is a request that has to be agreed by all the other member states it is not guaranteed to be accepted.

As this is the case the Government could also write a second letter making it clear to the EU that if an extension was accepted we would then be as problematic as possible while remain and veto policy changes etc..

In effect making it clear that while we are requesting the extension we don't want it and actively looking to make ourselves unwelcome.

Surely this can not happen?

I find your analysis childish. Talk of winners and losers is pathetic.

Once Brexit goes ahead and I believe it will most sensible people will understand that we are all losers. FWIW I don't expect you to be one of those people .

Mistakes were made for sure but better to act in the best interest of the country than to continue with something that you believe to be extremely harmful to the country.

Do I have to remind you (obviously I do) that the government laid out what leaving would mean (leave CU and SM) but most of the Leave campaigns were rubbishing that with different sorts of "soft" leaves - Norway, Canada, and still being in a FTZ from Icleand to the Russian border?

And if Johnson had been PM and was saying what he's saying now, the MPs wouldn't have voted to let him start Article 50.

The sore losers thing is just madness now. It's like saying the Light Brigade (what was left of them) came back from the Charge and said "Go again, sir?" rather than admit the blunder (by those who couldn't really see what was likely to happen).
(I thought I'd find a war narrative older than WW2.)

Not without more resignations from the Tory party and/or the Cabinet. And not without provoking a serious risk that, faced with an EU refusal to grant an extension (on whatever grounds), Parliament would vote to revoke article 50. The issue there is that they would do it as the obvious thing to do in the interests of the nation, but it is less obvious how it would pan out for their party in the aftermath.
