The father of a 2-year-old boy who shot himself and died on Christmas Day has been arrested.
Sincere Smith, 2, was celebrating Christmas at his family's home in Conway, South Carolina when he grabbed his father's gun from a table around 6pm on Tuesday and shot himself.
The boy's father, 30-year-old Rondell Javon Smith, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with involuntary manslaughter. The man is said to be inconsolable as he mourns his young son.

Grieving: The boy's father, Rondell Smith, is mourning the loss of his 2-year-old boy
The incident happened on Christmas evening, while the boy's mother was at work.
The boy died on the way to the hospital.
The father has been released from jail on a $500 bond but he says no punishment could be adequate.
'Going to jail ain't even enough,' he said. 'Whatever's coming to me is coming to me.'
The 30-year-old said that he only recently got a gun after an intruder tried to break into their home two weeks ago.
In remembrance: The family said the toddler loved McDonald's fries and singing and dancing
The toddler's family are remembering Sincere as a big brother to his 9-month-old sister Samiya, a fan of McDonald's french fries and an enthusiast for the Nick Jr. show 'Jack’s Big Music Show.'
'He would sing and dance. He sang every song. He knew every song,' LaKisha Brown Smith, the boy's mother, told Myrtle Beach online.
'He was very smart. He knew all of his colors and he knew how to count forwards and backwards.'
Despite the heartache over the tragedy, the boy's mother and his wife's family are standing by Rondell as he faces charges over the accident.
His wife, LaKisha, said she is distraught by the criticism thrown at her husband.
'If they just knew him and his kids. [Rondell] eats, breathes and sleeps his kids. My husband changed every diaper and made every bottle. He did everything for his kids,' she said.
Equally the woman's mother, Rondell's mother-in-law, says she is standing by Rondell despite the pain.
'That’s my daughter’s husband. They said ’til death do us part. I have to support her,' Smith’s mother-in-law Sheila Gaskin said.
'If I was someone else, I would probably hate him. But I understand. It was a senseless accident. I can’t hate him. That’s not God’s way.'
