I still think Lescott gets a hard ride on this forum.

He is a quality back up player and was perfectly fine when we became champions, you are not going to get a true world class defender to come and sit on the bench.

Kolorov looked like he had turned a corner a month back but has dropped off again.

Richards just has not been the same since his injuries and maybe a sale would be best for all concerned, he could still command a high price to another English team but then again is status as a former youth trained player for the squad make up will mean he stays.

Garcia- goodbye

Dzeko, another frustrating player, his scoring record is fantastic and in any other time scale he would be lauded as a hero but his lack of effort at times means he gets a lot of flack instead.

Sinclair was never good enough unfortunately.

good point about lescott. disagree about richards. i'd keep them both now that I think about it

Micah's playing really poorly this year but I still hope he can get back to his best, which will make him a good squad member. Dzeko's head's gone down and I suspect he will want a move, although I wouldn't mind him as a backup. Lescott I could handle as reserve left sided centre half but would be more than happy to sell and replace him with a world class centre half.

The rest are surplus to requirements without a doubt. Kolorov. Jesus Christ. Did he put a foot right all night?

The problem with Dzeko Dave is that I don't trust him to put the effort in as a back up. He will likely start against Leicester but I don't want him too. His body language is awful and for me we need to find a buyer for 1st January and have someone lined up to come in.

We are desperately short of quality in midfield when Yaya doesn't play and the left CB and left back areas concern me too. Nastasic for me shouldn't be playing every game and we need someone better alongside kompany and who can carry the right CB replacement when kompany is injured. Kolorov was gash tonight and Clichy has lost something this season too.

If we could sell a few players and replace in those areas I think we can win the league and progress further in Europe. If we trust this squad then we could easily fall short. If Yaya got injured we would be fucked.

A combined 92m outlay and all are weak links for reasons of ability or attitude or both.Tonight was proof of the vast gulf in quality that exists between our first choice players and their understudies.
Replacing at least a couple of the above in Jan would be hugely beneficial to our chances of winning silverware.

Yep break up for spare parts. What was the point of including Sinclair anyway, he is on loan and has made 4 appearances so far so no point of even discussing him.

Lescott is 4th choice and out of contract at the end of the season, he will be let go.

Richards has been poor for a while but no point replacing him unless he we get somebody better.

All the others are back up players and could also move at the end of the season but no point replacing them before that. As if replacing them would solve the problem of having squad players who don't perform at the same level as the first XI anyway. If you don't play every week then you don't have the same confidence, form and understanding with team mates.

Sorry but what exactly did garcia do wrong tonight??tell me becausr from where i was sat he did well..oh you can add milner to that list.

Micah can still find his form, I believe.

He's an academy graduate so a lot of us want him to succeed or at least have him in the squad to backup Zabaleta. I think, for that case, he's ideal. We not need another world class RB as Zabaleta is already at our disposal. If we play some backup players, we still have a big chance to win, just as we did tonight or against Newcastle in the Leage Cup. It's not that bad as people make it out on here. Even in their shit form, Kolarov and Richards are solid squad members when needed, and the same can be said about Lescott. I'm comfortable with all the three of them, maybe Kolarov is a bit expensive to play that role, though.

Well, of course, if Micah is not comfortable with playing just 20-25 games a season, than the situation is completely different.

milner is a perfect squad player. it'd be a huge mistake letting him go and only drop our home grown numbers further. garcia doesnt fit the system

It's certainly time to wonder if we wouldn't be better off replacing some of these supposedly big names with players perhaps not quite as known, but of a much higher technical proficiency. Sure many players at the likes of Southampton and Swansea look good because they get to play every week, so may not be quite as good in a rotation system, but watching Dzeko mess up another attack time and time again you surely have to ask the question. Even if players like Dzeko and Lescott could fit into our system with a run of games it's irrelevant, because they're not going to get them. Being able to jump into the side having not played for a couple of weeks and not bring the passing average down to ten percent is just as important at a top club.
