Anyone given up coffee?

Why would you give up coffee?

Coffee contains Riboflavin (vitamin B2), Pantothenic acid (vitamin B5), Manganese and potassium, Magnesium and niacin (vitamin B3)...

Coffee can reduce the risk of Type2 Diabetes by 7%. Studies show it may reduce the risk of Parkinson’s. It reduces cirrhosis of the liver. Acts as an antidepressant. Studies are showing it may reduce the risk of stroke.

It tastes lovely and livens you up in the morning and is good for clearing out your colon (which helps reduce the risk of colon cancer).

And it’s the biggest source of antioxidants in the Western diet

My gf is absolutely buzzing in the mornings - always smiling & full of beans. How she puts up with me being groggy, dopey & generally half asleep for at least an hour is beyond me. And that's without ale... I just cannot wake up.
She says it's because I'm addicted to coffee. She doesn't drink it. Any thoughts?
Interesting question. I'm the world's worst at getting up in the morning. I'm sure many people claim the same but I'm terrible, to the point that I think there's something wrong with me. I lack energy at the best of times but dragging myself put of bed is horrendous at times. I actually feel depressed for the first half an hour if I get up early.
I often wonder why this is, and the only thing I can put it down to is coffee. I drink loads of the stuff but I can't function without it.

There are studies that show the alcohol can stop ischemic strokes as it can keep blood vessels in the brain clear and from plaques.

Every time someone does a study to show that coffee is dangerous it seems to turn out that it is beneficial . Sure there are a few conditions for which it isn't great and if you're a poor sleeper don't drink it in the evening. But aside from that I'm with you it tastes great and gives me a lift in the morning what's not to like?

Too much of anything is bad for you.

If you ate too many apples you’d probably have too much sugar in your body and your body wouldn’t be able to use all the vitamins so there’s be waste in your body. Which is why freshly squeezed fruit juices aren’t good for you, the volume of fruit in them is unrealistic. You wouldn’t sit there and eat 25 apples in one sitting but that’s what apple juice (or any other pressed juices) are the equivalent of.

So, drink coffee, it’s good for you, but don’t drink a dozen cups a day.
