Anyone going to Abu Dhabi friendly ???

We are staying at the Sheraton Resort and Hotel in Abu Dhabi.

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.booking.com/hotel/ae/sheraton-abu-dhabi-resort.html?label=gog235jc;sid=02851a487fb84e982b9fde47359dc741;checkin=2009-11-11;checkout=2009-11-14" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.booking.com/hotel/ae/sherato ... 2009-11-14</a>

Are there any Blues that live in Abu Dhabi that can shed any light on the night life/bars there?

I have clocked a few bars on the internet that are "sports bars" and one near the hotel but if anyone is "in the know" I would appreciate their input.

Genuine non tourist experiences would also be appreciated.

yes thay are, at £699, ours cost £469 plus match ticket but the club deals seem to be very good value too. I beleive though that the Economy deals are sold out (may be wrong). Try:

The Byblos Hotel is currently AED280 a night, which is around 50 quid. It's at the right end of Dubai for getting to Abu Dhabi and is where the Dubai supporters club meets for games (at the Crown & Lion).

The Holiday Inn and The Golden Tulip in Al Barsha (Dubai) are near the Byblos and are around the same price.

Abu Dhabi is about an hour's drive away. About 50 quid in a taxi, which is ok if you can fill it. We'll probably be arranging a coach there and back, so any of you staying in Dubai should get in touch nearer the time and you can join us if there's room.
Good info DB cheers, i`m in two minds now about what to do/where to stay, Abu Dhabi sounds the logical choice as its nearer the stadium and I do`nt fancy hiring cars while i`m over there, however Dubai does have more to offer, and the chance to meet more blues already over there can only make the trip more enjoyable, if we could travel with other blues to and from the stadium from Dubai (think Scall said he may be staying in Dubai) this would probably swing it, would be surreal driving through the desert at night on a coach singing `who the f**k are man united` lol... Going to book it tomorrow either way, and once again thanks everyone for tips and guidance......Ca`nt wait

If anyone's looking to book, or care about my travel plans (ha), I'm thinking of this:

Saturday 7th November
MCFC vs Burnley

Sunday 8th November

Monday 9th November
Fly to Dubai

Tuesday 10th November
Dubai

Wednesday 11th November
Fly to Abu Dhabi

Thursday 12th November
UAE vs MCFC

Friday 13td November
Abu Dhabi

Saturday 15th November
Fly to Doha
England vs Brazil

Sunday 16th November
Fly back to Manchester

The flights for all of this are £364, I'm guessing on doing a bus/coach from Dubai to Abu Dhabi. Not booked anything yet though.
