didn't do any oasis trips - was working in Saudi so having a jolly to the sand wasn't top of the list.
All the real tourist stuff tends to be in Dubai - about 100 miles away.
There might be an oasis trip but best to ask at the hotel desk when you check in - very helpful staff. If you're only there 3 nights then make the most of AD.

Nice hotel - get a drink and a cool towel when you sit down to check in - yes, sit down to check in.
Worth having a look at the Emirates Palace hotel - I expect the team will be staying there. You can just go in and wander round and get a drink at one of the many bars but it takes a while to get used to having staff stood on every corner.
