Thanks for that great info, sounds like a buzzin place, did you mention something about shopping ? what does that entail then ? was quite fancying a trip out to that oasis in the desert, forget its name, would you recommend it.cheers[/quote]

didn't do any oasis trips - was working in Saudi so having a jolly to the sand wasn't top of the list.
All the real tourist stuff tends to be in Dubai - about 100 miles away.
There might be an oasis trip but best to ask at the hotel desk when you check in - very helpful staff. If you're only there 3 nights then make the most of AD.

Nice hotel - get a drink and a cool towel when you sit down to check in - yes, sit down to check in.
Worth having a look at the Emirates Palace hotel - I expect the team will be staying there. You can just go in and wander round and get a drink at one of the many bars but it takes a while to get used to having staff stood on every corner.

Eight of us have booked in to a 4 star hotel in Bur Dubai. We fly out on the Sunday after the Burnley game and return on Monday 16th. The flights are via Amsterdam and the accomodation is board only. We have paid £624 for the seven nights.

Tickets are on sale now

Which hotel in BD?

Happy Mondays and Ocean Colour Scene live at the Irish Village on Friday 6th. Unfortunately you'll just miss them.

We are in The Country Club Hotel. I'm pissed off about missing the Mondays :-(

Seriously thinking about this now but dont know where to start!

Missus seems to be gettin keen too!

Would I get very far with £1,000 to cover the two of us?

And how long is the flight?

Would want to keep time away from work a minimum but dont want to waste money if flight is most expensive part and flight time is long! ie maximise time over there for cost

Any help appreciated!

Sounds like it could be a good adventure!

Flight about 8/9 hours
I got mine for £290 with Qatar, Manchester to Dubai (cheaper to fly to Dubai I think as it's a big international hub)
You can get cheap hotels in Dubai or Abu Dhabi easy enough. Depends on what level of luxury you want.

I reckon you could do it just about for £1,000 for two. Say flights would cost £600. Maybe £200 on hotels and £200 spending money?

Our old home. There should still be a signed City shirt on the wall as you go into the hotel bar (The Players Lounge). See my post on page 4 for a list of bars to go to.

You can also add all the bars at Wafi Pyramids and the Madinat Jumeirah to that list.
