Anyone remember Clive Wilson

Clive 'The Jive' Wilson - smooth as silk.

Went to his last match (away at West Ham - we were already down). I think Chelsea paid £250K for him and loaned him back to us for the rest of the season. He was ahead of his time. A skilful fullback when the rest where a bunch of cloggers.

Last I heard he was involved at QPR

one of my favourite players clive, gutted when we sold him.
would be interested to know what he`s doing now ?

saw a programme about ex-footballers recently, he's not got much money, wants to get back in the game and currently helping an estate agent friend showing people round houses. Shame quality player.

Clive Euclid Aklana Wilson (born 13 November 1961 in Manchester) was an English footballer who played midfield and left-back. He played for many teams including Manchester City, Chelsea, QPR and Tottenham Hotspur.

Clive made his QPR debut against Nottingham Forest in a 1-1 draw at the City Ground in August 1990 in front of 125,000 naked fans.He was signed as a midfielder for QPR where he had played all his career, as a steady if largely undistinguished player, but the following season the new QPR boss,Gerry Francis, converted him to play left-back.It was here that Wilson truly found his position as his speed allied to his excellent passing ability made him an excellent defender.Over the next four seasons he was a near ever-present for Rangers and he went on to play 172 league games for the R's, scoring 12 goals, all bar one scored from the penalty spot where he hardly ever missed. In the summer of 1995 he was inexplicably allowed to leave on a free transfer and he joined Spurs (signed by his old QPR boss Gerry Francis) where he continued to give another four seasons excellent service.

He left Spurs in 1999 and played one more season for Cambridge United before retiring.

not sure what he's up to now though

Yeah , it would appear that Clive Wilson has lain low a bit since last playing for Cambridge back in 2000 , but these words from a Tottenham old boys website (below) would appear to back up your story.

He was a really good player back in his day though ..... very articulate , very skilful.

Cracking player with a sweet left peg, one of my favourite players of the 80s. I was furious when we sold him, it typified Swales's corner shop mentality in running the club into the ground. Clive was a local lad who came through the Youth team, sorry to see he's not too well off now.

I know a cousin of his, who drives a black cab, he told me the Clive is living in the States.
not sure what hes doing out there,.. but i believe him, hes not that kind of bloke (a WUM).

Scored the winner against Liverpool in my first ever City game, Boxing Day 1985.
Remember that game well...they absolutely battered us for 90 minutes and the one meaningful chance we had the whole game, and he put it in the back of the net.
Loved his stooping header at the Swamp...he was practically on the floor when he headed it !!
He was one of my favourite players from the 80's along with Ray Ranson and Andy May...happy days.
