I know his brother Gus - he's now pe teacher/football coach at manchester grammar - clive came down to give us a few coaching sessions - absolutely quality guy.

So that's what Gus is upto? Used to play with him, good player. Still got a photo of us winning a 7aside tourny.
Clive was top, silky smooth.
I don't remember jive Clive as a player due to my age but I used to play for a team called Unicorn when I was a kid and we trained at platt lane during the winter, and mr Wilson was our coach. He was a top trainer and a top guy to talk to.

he can be seen in didsbury village now and again, quality guy who still gets blues going up to him for a chat etc, and is allways polite to them. also his brother gus is the same and they look like twins, i think gus sometimes has to tell people he is not clive. gus is an x pro too he played for crewe alex. and i allways thought he was as good as clive too. we should of kept clive and sent gus to chelsea lol

Would that be Gus? He used to coach me as a kid at Platt Lane. He must have been a shit coach though, which is why I never made it as a player!

Anyone remember the documentary Granada did back in the early eighty's about City - Bit of a fly on the wall.
Wasnt it Clive who got out of the team bath and revealed his "babies arm" or was it Dave Bennett. I just remember laughing as the camera was steaming up and he just wandered around with it swinging in the breeze.

i was about 14 when he left, i was devastated, i wrote a letter to city (the only time i've ever done it) explaining my disgust at selling such a great player, they replied, telling me "thank's for taking the time to write and the comment's i made will be taken into consideration". Well that was a waste of time wasn't it! lol.
