His brother lives facing me, maybe I should try to get a question and answers session!?

*Ponders whether to really knock on his brothers door and ask him*

Would that be Gus? He used to coach me as a kid at Platt Lane. He must have been a shit coach though, which is why I never made it as a player!

Yeah its Gus! I dont really know him properly, but he has always got his City gear on - in fact, the only times I have spoken to him have been about City!

i was about 14 when he left, i was devastated, i wrote a letter to city (the only time i've ever done it) explaining my disgust at selling such a great player, they replied, telling me "thank's for taking the time to write and the comment's i made will be taken into consideration". Well that was a waste of time wasn't it! lol.

I did the same got a reply back from Jimmy Frizzel -part of which said that supporters didnt know everything that went on at a football club!!!!!!

Nice one, tell him I have fond memories of him, he was a really nice lad. Is he still involved in football, do you know?

The great Dave Ewing used to take us for training as well sometimes.

Can't believe fellow blues don't know who he is and have to google him to find out. Talk about 'nouveaus'.....fook me!

To be fair some will be too young. I googled him to see where he went after Chelsea and how long he played.

He played more often as left back than anywhere else. He was actually a few years ahead of his time, being a solid dependable full back who was equally at ease going forward and taking men on, and delivering ood crosses. A bit unusual at the time, but now a prerequisite of any decent full back.

Good point. Hadn't thought about that he was ahead of his time. He just always looked to me like he had lots of time on the ball.

Exactly, Swales made them sell him. He was our most valuble player at the time and we were broke as usual.
Wish we had Clive now, we wouldn't have to sell him.
I rate him up there with the likes of Lakey, Barnes, Owen, SWP etc, etc... as one of the best players we ever produced.
