Bezz,

Are you still having the same problems as you were in April? As dan says go and see your training provider.

If you don't have one and your employer is calling you an apprentice but not giving you any support or further learning then maybe take some legal advice.

more or less yes, been looking for other jobs but naff all round my area..

I am not even guaranteed a job after this, my "manager" (iv been at the company longer than her) is more or less black mailing me, saying i have to do overtime (i dont mind doing overtime i stay most nights and saturdays but i cant always do it as i have kids and she aint happy with this and is saying i need to do alot more or she wont take me on, i dont get a job given to me on a plate i have to earn it ect..

ps

I wouldnt mind if i was learning a trade but i feel myself and many others are being taken advantage of.

Is the scheme run via a service provider?

Bezz,

You are not helping yourself here mate. Find out and go and speak to them and take control of the problem.

You can't worry about what others are doing, only you can change your situation.

This has been going on for some time and you have been advised to go and see them before. If you want support from here then you need to do something with the advise you have been given.

Sorry if this sounds harsh but I am sure others will agree.

The Tories on here don't half stick together don't they? A demonstration of comradely solidarity that warms the heart. You should form a union.

How can i be a leech? Surely the union cunts are the leeches? You go on idolising bob crow as he drinks martinis in his park lane hotel, while you union boys top and tail in a premier inn. Fucking joker.
Touched a nerve have i? You don`t pay to be in th Union but expect all the benefits, rate of pay, safe working environment and all th other conditions the Union and management have agreed. Thats how you are a leech.

And let's not forget Lord Prescott........

.....power to the PEEEEEEPULLLLLL!!!!!

For the record, I was a shop steward for the TGWU back in the day. Opened my eyes to the gravy-train that those higher up in the Unions ride on. For years.

Once you reach a certain level, you're pretty much untouchable. It really is a closed-shop.....

So, yeah I'm clearly a 'Tory'....

I have spoken to the representative from the college and she wasnt very helpful and basicly said there is nothing she can do as it is up to the company what work i do and weather they take me on or not.

She will not be able to advise on what the company will do, however, she has a responsibility to ensure that you are learning and not being used as cheap labour.

If she can't help you then go to her boss.

Forget about being taken on because it sounds like they have no intention of doing so. Accept that and make sure you are getting something out of the apprenticeship
